In this chapter, Vegapunk implies that the ancient weapons hold a vital role in causing the flood and there are 3 ancient weapons that is mentioned throughout the story. Now here's my speculation: There is a third faction that joined the war other than Joy Boy and the 20 kings, which is the fishmen and the mermaids. Since there are 3 ancient weapons, i believe each faction have 1 ancient weapon. My guess is that: - Pluton is the ship used by Joy Boy to set sail in the ocean, a powerful ship made with advanced technology from his homeland (This gives more meaning to the Thousand Sunny, because i think Franky made it to imitate Pluton in some way. This also strengthen the relationship between Luffy and Joy Boy because their ships are based on the same blueprint). - Poseidon is already confirmed to be a mermaid capable of controlling the sea kings. Possibly, the Poseidon in void century starts off as an outsider but allies with Joy Boy in the end. Joy Boy promised to the fishmen that if they win the war, he will take the fishmen to the surface and prepares Noah as a gift. But unfortunately, the promise is never fulfilled because they are losing. That can explain the poneglyph in fishman island that contains an advance apology from Joy Boy to Poseidon on that era. - Uranus is the weapon made by the 20 kings to defeat Joyboy. The reason why there's so little information about it from the poneglyphs is because that the 20 kings secretly made it, so the appearance and location of it is well-hidden. I can imagine that this weapon takes the form of a gigantic flying object which power is to change the climate around the world (this may explain why the celestial dragons choose to live high up in Mariejois: To hide their ancient weapon). Now here's my thought on what happened during the void century: - Joy Boy has an ideology that all people in the world must have their own freedom and not be bound by anything. He set sail to spread this ideology to the world and many people around the world become his allies. - The 20 kings were aware of Joy Boy's influence around the world, they thought that complete freedom will cause many consequences such as uncontrollable crimes and disorders like what pirates typically does. Therefore they take action to set law and order, forming an organization we know now as World Government. - Both sides clashes many times, until it gets bigger when the fishmen joined forces with Joy Boy. The reason is because they want to taste freedom outside the ocean. - Each faction used their ancient weapon. During this time, Uranus seems to be the most dominant because it can gradually change the climate while being unreachable and unseen. On the other side, Joy Boy and the fishmen only dominates the sea and land. - The continuous use of Uranus causes thermal expansion and gradually raise the sea level around the world. Cornering Joy Boy and all his allies. With the dire situation on his end, Joy Boy prepares a last attempt to pass on his ideology by writing all history throughout his life and put it on a hidden island at the end of the world. He intentionally do this to make sure whoever find his treasure must travel around the world first to see the whole result of the war and decide for themselves whether to continue the will or not. - He also passed a mission to Zunisha to wait for the next Joy Boy and give assistance when the time arrives. Zunisha keeps roaming endlessly for centuries wihout finding any sign of the new Joy Boy, therefore assuming that it is a punishment for not being able to win the war. - For the sake of his allies, Joy Boy surrender himself to the world government to end the war. (This might explain why Imu have a giant straw hat in Mareijois, probably it was Joy Boy's belonging and his remains were kept in Mariejois as well). Moving to a few hundred years later: - After that, the world becomes like what we see now. The world government rules above all, the former allies of Joy Boy were discriminated and the fishmen are forced to retreat into the sea. The World Government keep the world contained by setting law and order, erasing all the information about the void century and eliminate whoever tries to learn about it, so that the future generations will never know about Joy Boy's ideology. - Uranus is running out of energy and cannot be used again, but the extreme climate around the world caused by it still exist until now. This might refer to Vegapunk's words: "The war has left a scar that can't be healed". I think the final arc of One Piece will be when Luffy finally learn the truth and continuing Joy Boy's mission. It will be a reenactment of war in Void Century but this time, Luffy's alliance will be much stronger compared to hundred years ago.

It can also be the fact that the red line was created after the war in the void century as a way for them to take responsibility for their mistakes, after the red line was created, they made reverse mountain, which could simply redistribute the water from one ocean/sea to another, but doing it slowly enough so they can handle the rise in water levels over time instead of having constant floods, but it never entirely stopped it from rising, only making it possible to prepare for the rise in water level. The red line basically represents law and order, as well as the current peace in keeping the world afloat. But of course absolute power absolutely corrupts. That`s a very good, interesting and feasible point actually...Considering what The Roger Pirates found on Laugh Tale, it might be the Story of how this Ancient War started...Maybe it was because of a really dumb, drunken or childish Argument between some people/friends unworthy of mentioning which completey blew out of proportions and over Time engulfed the whole world because of some dumb misunderstanding..That would explain while roger laughed so hard and made Rayleigh warn the Straw Hats that "They should travel and see the World for themselves so that they maybe come to a different conclusion" and would be strengthend by Vegapunks message that he can`t get into Detail because he doesn`t have enough Knowledge to determine who the bad and who the good Party in this Century-long-Conflict is, if there even is one in the first place.

My guess is this. This is a 100 year conflict. And if Joyboy and Imu fought for 100 years. Their personalities changed drastically, as they both used Ancient Weapons against each other. It explains why there are D's like Blackbeard. Probably around the end of the Void Century, several D's defected, and wanted to go all out against Imu. The kingdoms didn't want others to know, so they formed an alliance to take him out. Unfortunately, they ended up having to use an ancient weapons themselves to defeat Joyboy. Which in turn could've caused whomever had the other two weapons to retaliate thus sinking most of the world and leaving two ancient weapons sealed away while the third was still in control of what is now the world government. I personally think Joyboy was more like Luffy because of Vegapunk's recent discovery that the devil fruits pass down a part of their personality when they alter the eater's DNA. We can see this a little in how Luffy became happier and more carefree after eating the Gum Gum fruit. We can also see this in the seraphim clone of Hancock. My take is I feel that joyboy wanted to be free in a world of order so he set out to sea made all these strong and powerful friends and made a crew (mainly Poseidon), his ship was probably pluton and he possessed whatever Uranus is. Nika, the OG Giant God of the Slaves was around long before the void century (we know this because he's different than Joyboy). That means before the void century, slavery of different races was an issue. Saturn also refers to Luffy as "Nika" not "Joyboy". Add in the giant hat, and seems pretty clear to me that Imu's original enemy was Nika. That's probably why Joyboy ended up with the Nika fruit, to fight Imu

Here's my theory. Joyboy was a 4chan user who tried finding the location of the giant buried limestone meme compilation of 2017 by 9Gag during the void century. By then 9Gag became so powerful that they bought Google. He and a group of 4chan users opened a subreddit called Dank Meme Pirates. They analyzed the direction of the sunlight from the official photo by 9Gag and went to the location to destroy the cringe meme artifact with nitric acid, to save the future generation from cringing. But 9Gag called the cops to stop them and eventually 9Gag placed armed mercenary guards to protect the 9 memes on that limestone poneglyph. After the cops un-detained them, Dank crew declared war on 9Gag and called upon the biggest 20 subreddits to launch DdOS attack on 9Gag for calling the cops, also they opened an event to raid the site doing Naruto run. They even made their own signboards directing to that 9GAG secret site and some rich dude also sponsored the 4chan people to make their own poneglyph, to summon more nerds, and they wrote it in the Elvish language so no one would understand them but only the nerds. Eventually on the day of the event, there were almost a million people getting ready to destroy the meme artifact. It was the will of D (Dank) that united everyone. On that day, 9Gag's CEO went to the moon trying to surpass Jeff Bezos, and he found a strange fruit in there and ate it (you know what happened). Suddenly, a massive earthquake of 20 magnitude happened because he could perceive the earth as a small thing and unknowingly activated his quake powers. In 5 minutes mega tsunamis started all over the globe at once and the whole earth was under water. Clearly the Naruto-long-march 9gag site raiding failed. It was like the Biblical flood. Apparently that part of history was forgotten and only the group of minorities living on hilly tracts survived. The world suddenly had a supernatural power called Heavenly Fruits, but the working class revolted against the ruling class after this empowerment, so the government banned this fruit and also changed the name to Devil Fruits. Also the world government found out about an old world idea, where the peasants showed backbone against the ruling party, so they destroyed whatever piece of evidence left of that era. Eventually Gold Roger cracked the mystery and found out the location of that ancient meme artifact. The roger pirates cringed very hard that day. Gold Roger decided to prank the whole world and did 3 things. Named that mystery location laughtale, got everyone in the crew's NDA not to kill the joke as a dying wish and finally, inspired everyone to find that One Piece of shit meme artifact from 2017 by 9Gag.

Joyboy is both Luffy and Blackbeard. Remember 100 years of War. No matter the person, fighting in a war of that scale for 100 years, is bound to mess your head. Joyboy was originally like Luffy, but as the Ancient Weapons were used and nations were literally genocided. He broke. And we know the Nika Fruit has the unique trait similar to a Smile Fruit, you cannot stop laughing. Joyboys innocent laughs eventually became vengeful and resentful laughs. Hints for this as a theory: The Going Mary pretty clearly had some level of sentience because it was cared for so deeply and found a way to help the Straw Hats at Enies Lobby. It was such a big deal that the shipwrights passed down the blueprints for Pluton to Franky that I have a hard time thinking of that as a plot distraction set up by Oda-and having blueprints implies pretty clearly that Pluton, or even more than one Pluton and its the only survivor, is something that can be built.

What if joy boy wanted to party, dance etc but the strict ancient kingdom had strict rules against this as a form of oppression. Joy boy became a pirate to free the world and have people make their own choices and dreams (like luffy) but also wanted to drink and party. So, joy boy was trying to unite the world on one piece of land as he wanted everyone to experience what he enjoyed travelling and discovering etc. But to unite the world, he had to use the ancient weapons to flood the world so he can destroy the 20 kingdoms and make 1 land for all. He could have realized his mistake during the war and eventually surrendered, apologized and was executed like Rogers. This maybe started the tradition to execute pirates (joyboy is the first pirate so also first to be executed). Roger and his crew may have laughed after reading this story of how the first pirate almost owned the world. Probably not a unique theory but so interesting as more informations released

What if JoyBoy was acctually very, very much like Luffy? Maybe JoyBoy started the war by accident, without thinking about it (very Luffy) and just didn't care about it. I feel like we may have arrived at a place in the story that reveals a long build up to the coded references of the advent of atomic energy in our real world, and the mixed results that have come with it. Could Joy Boy be an allergorical reference(?) To America, whom used the A-Bomb ? Being this is a Japanese story it would make a great deal of sense if in some part or aspect of his story, Oda would so deftly encode his perspectives or takeaways on something that effected his home country so deeply. I think one could easily find in many aspects of these last few chapters and the message Vegapunk is laying out for us, moments that loosely connect to events surrounding a post A-bomb world.

I have a theory... That the history of Joyboy goes deeper because of the ego of the Nika-Nika fruit. And what if the Sun God Nika has something to do with the singular point of creation of all devil fruits? It's possible that Nika was more of a devil than a god. And maybe Joyboy started to realize this as he harnessed more of the fruits power and Nika's own ego and craziness started to bleed over and cause more chaotic harm. It's possible the sea level was risen in an attempt to keep the power of Nika and other devil fruits at bay. And after that things like haki were developed as a stage 2 of combating the devil fruit abilities. But the plan, whether it joyboy's or the government's or whoever, went amiss. And now the government has to take on responsibility of all the life and land lost, while also trying to maintain order and fix the further disasters. All just my theory's and maybe some of that is more plausible than other parts. But Nika is pretty mysterious, the devil fruits are very mysterious, as well as joyboy, the government, rocks etc.

But on their travels, they did find the ancient weapons, and Joy Boy and crew decided to destroy/hide/etc them, before someone could use them for evil, but Imu, similarly to Blackbeard, became greedy with power, and used Uranus, without Joy Boy and co. knowing that he had it, and started conquering the world, meanwhile painting Joy Boy and his crew as pirates/bad guys. So, the kingdoms banded together to stop them, and when the fight was going on, Imu, backstabbed Joy Boy, calling himself Imu, from now on, and creating the new government, hiding the truth from the world.

I think we have to consider the sea kings at the fishmen island arc. They took the noah to a place, where it could be repaired. Where is this place? Now that we know, that the ancient kingdom or most of the ancient world is under sea, who knows if there is somewhere a place of people, fishmen or whatever race, which survived in the dark and was able to maintain some knowledge, protected by seakings. Who else could repair the huge noah? Will it be repaired under water or somewhere else? All I know now, is that most of the world is under water. If there was technology to build the huge doors on Enies Lobby, it could be possible to build a bunker under sea. If the noah is the ship of promise, who sais, that there won't be a force hiding and showing up, when the war, which Vegapunk said is still going on, will come to a deciding clash?

At this point, now I'm convinced that the old joy boy was a slave given powers by some underworldly force the king called devil power. But the powers could be extinguished by the water of the world. He wanted to do everything his fruit said it could do. Even be happy...but that happiness came at the cost of his friends, and the weapons that were created to stop him. Prolly gonna end like a disney movie where they realize how wrong they were and the villain who enslaved others got away. But joy boys legacy could not be extinguished completely.
