In all this time, I'd never saw Ingward go back to the shrine due to never talking to him afterwards and the four kings being usually my last fight. I gotta try this one!

for some reason, it’s barely mentioned anywhere online. most people probably do the same you did and never go back to ingward after the four kings.

I just noticed that his dialogue indicates that he went outside and the sun blinded him so he crawled back into "this dark hole". Maybe he was supposed to be found somewhere else? Firelink shrine hardly seems like a "dark hole" to me.
@STAR_RUNS3 күн бұрын
i thought that was odd, too. looking at where he’s located in firelink, it is kind of a nook that’s out of the way of everything else and could maybe be considered a ‘dark hole’. definitely a strange line

@NanoSwarm2 күн бұрын
Lautrec is just doing his thing man. But Petrus is absolute scum and validates Patches hatred for clerics. You know how you can find the morningstar by falling down the elevator shaft that leads up to Undead Parish at firelink shrine? All those chests there contain items that Petrus stashed away. There's an extra regular talisman, the aformentioned morningstar, lloyd's talismans, and some cracked red eye orbs. Think about what Petrus is doing with those items, the greedy bastard. Even if you save Rhea, he fucking kills her. Compared to Petrus, Lautrec is a saint.

So, if you read the Avelyn item description, it starts with "Repeating crossbow cherished by the weapon craftsman Eidas". This is, as far as I can tell, the only mention of Eidas across the entire trilogy. Some speculate that the hollow crystal knight you fight before your first Seath encounter is Eidas himself, that he was captured by Seath and forced to work for him until turning hollow, which explains why he's a unique enemy. It's an interesting theory.
@STAR_RUNSКүн бұрын

Dropping a like on this one, most of the last half I didn't know 500 hours in. Only learned the Seth boss fog one last year. One thing I encountered earlier this week. I was fighting dark wraiths on the chapel stairs with Grant. I killed one, but the shockwave from the slam staggered the one behind & he fell of the side of the stairs with the animation of running out of stamina off a ladder. Funniest shit I saw that day.

Thanks for the vid, it's great!! I recently did okay in the pit with the Large Divine Ember. If you put on the slumbering ring (maybe ring of fog too but I don't think I had that on), you can jump over the ladder hole and run around to the back side of the pit by the ember. Drop down and if you're careful, you only need to fight 1 or 2 skeletons at a time and can clear it out.

Actually, leaving Seath's arena does serve a purpose. If you actually go back there before you start his real boss fight in the crystal caves, then you can simply leave without having to die to him again. Also fun fact, dying in there always sends you to the prison, no matter what, even if Seath is dead. Probably another softlock prevention on the slim offchance Seath somehow dies or something before you go to the prison.
@STAR_RUNS2 күн бұрын
that’s really interesting, i didn’t know that. iirc, seath constantly regenerates health in that room and even if you somehow did drain his health to zero, he literally just won’t die, so you can’t really soft lock yourself anyway afaik
@Vorox1027Күн бұрын
@@STAR_RUNS Yeah, only known way is to basically just poof Seath to 0 with cheats. Guess they just wanted to be absolutely sure you couldn't get stuck right before the end of the game.
