I really liked this. Maybe you can do this with a pack of the same tickets, ie: a pack of Power Up, or another ticket, instead of 2 different tickets. Granted, the cost would be more, especially on $10 tix. Or do a pack $2 or $5 tickets.

Well now, Matt... this may surprise you, but in your state, the odds *should* have an extremely slight edge. Surprised to hear me say that, considering I believe (and operate under the assumption) that winning tickets are distributed at random throughout the packs? Well, yes, even with that, the odd-numbered tickets still have a slight edge over their even-numbered counterparts. Here's why: In Texas, there are 125 tickets in a $2 ticket pack, 75 tickets in a $5 ticket pack, 25 tickets in a $20 or $30 ticket pack, and 15 tickets in a $100 ticket pack. Additionally in Texas, all ticket packs start their numbering at 001 (which is odd) and end at the maximum number of tickets for the pack (e.g. 125 for $2, 075 for $5, etc.). And 125, 75, 25, and 15 are all odd numbers. So for random winning ticket with number X, here are the probabilities of it being an odd or even number, broken down by denomination: $1 -- odd, 50%; even, 50% $2 -- odd, 50.4%; even, 49.6% $3 -- odd, 50%; even, 50% $5 -- odd, 50.67%; even, 49.33% $10 -- odd, 50%; even, 50% $20 -- odd, 52%; even, 48% $30 -- odd, 52%; even, 48% $50 -- odd, 50%; even, 50% $100 -- odd, 53.33%; even, 46.67% At no time do the even-numbered tickets EVER have the advantage. Now, in MY state (Colorado), it's always a 50-50 proposition. Why? Our packs consist of 300 ($1), 100 ($2/$3), 60 ($5/$10), or 30 ($20/$50) tickets. And even though we start our pack numbering on 000 (which is even), it always ends on an odd number (299, 099, 059, or 029). Neither the odds nor the evens have an advantage in our case. So sorry to shatter superstitions or illusions... but the math doesn't lie! 🙂

If you had chosen just one style of ticket instead of 2 different ones, the odds versus even would make more sense, by the way how is that grand baby doing? My Grandson was born about the same time and is still not walking, any tips to help?

He's doing great. We read that most babies start walking by 18 months. I'm sure you're doing everything we tried. We encouraged standing a lot for balance. Offering favorite toys out of his reach. It took several weeks because he was more interested in crawling. One day he just decided to walk. lol

Seems most all scratchers, and gamblers in general, have some superstitions about numbers. Hard to forget the numbers involved on your highest claimer, perhaps, but otherwise it's all random to me. Odds, Evens, whatever ~ either you won or you lost.
