I honestly think they should’ve had an actual kid as the main character. Because it’s so fucking surreal to hear an adult talk about dinosaur nuggets and how they’re a kid through a character that’s supposed to directly represent them. If James changed the character design slightly or even his voice then that’d be one thing. But from what I can tell he’s using the same voice and design he uses for his story time videos, which just adds to the surrealism of this adult larping as a child.

James' ASMR was somehow the start of my whole KZbinr journey and rabbit hole. It's such a fucking weird story, but I'd love to tell it to someone sometime, so here's a little intro to it all; it started back in 2015 when I stole my brother's phone at 6 AM in the morning while he was sleeping and saw he was watching some weird video on KZbin labeled as "[ASMR] Triggerfest! Tapping, Softly Speaking, and Whispering". I was listening to it and thought it was relaxing, looked it up, found James' video to explain it. The rest is history. Fuckin' weird.

Never watched the show but i have to say that i really agree with your take on the character designs, the secondary characters feel so bland and soulless honestly, making the world they live in as a "youtube animator city" would've been so cool and it could have a lot of potential for jokes and plot even. Also this is going to be really hypocritical of me since my art style took a lot of inspiration from those cartoons, but don't really like the 2015 bean-mouth art style in this show also, the future girl design is also so so simple but in a bad way, i feel like they should redesign her a little and at least make her have a different bodyshape or somn, she looks exactly like my old gravity falls oc when i was like 12😭
