Yeah, also they can add so much backup crew with it. Not to mention he did figure out why they put it higher. thanks to the location of the launcher the whole vehicle can be hidden behind 20 feet of earth whilst having a clear guided shot on targets. There is reasons why they did so well against tanks

From what I gathered from.the devblog, those missiles are supposed to be laser guided (even though I'm pretty sure they are coded as normal SACLOS in game) ; so maybe the laser pointer could depress more despite the actual launcher being blocked at -5° ?

The publicly available specifications I'm finding quote 10° of depression and 20° of elevation. Also, the missiles are supposed to have a low observable (low smoke?) rocket motor. Also has a range of 5km.

Odd you should take a historical sadf lineup with the ratel 90, eland ratel 20, the olifant mk1 and the rooikat mk1d. My granddad was the commander on a ratel 90 and told me how they sat in bushes and waited for the angolan t-54’s and 55’s came rolling by, and late in the war he told me how he was in an olifant mk1 and the commander of the t-55 they were facing looked right at them and didn’t see them and then they yeeted the t-55 with a heat round

If you think this is bad, play the type 93, it can’t kill tanks, and it struggles to kill aircraft, it has 2 crew members and can be killed by anything and everything. It is the worst vehicle in war Thunder hands down

The missiles are far too slow, it's large, no depression, 2 of the 3 crew are in the turret, can't fire on the move at all, and with all of that it's also a TD so it can't even scout things to gain passive RP.

This tank seems like it will forever be a hidden gem, it's now got 1000mm pen and fixed sights. Pushing 660 kills to 300 deaths in a "struggle bus". Tip; the tanks size is its strongest point, it can fire over obstacles nothing else in game can, making for some maps to be extremely cheesy when nobody bothers to look for your pod peeking from a rock or container nobody should be hiding behind.

Hey odd... m26 pershing and a26 invader? pretty good combo, because the a26 can hold so many bombs as well as mg’s or 2 37 mm cannons, and it’s just a twin engine attacker so it’s pretty mobile. the m26 is a well balanced tank with a sizeable round and good armor. it isn’t the fastest tank, but can hit some pretty good speed considering the armor it has. you could also whip out the super pershing as well as the f6f-5N, which is just the hellcat we all know and love but with a radar and 20 mm cannons to wipe out open tops. (day 8-ish)

Pretty sure the crosshair is like that to help you aim, cause the launcher is offset, so it reminds you to adjust for that so you don't hit your cover you're shooting over.

You should definitely try the ratel 20 before saying it's probably better, the 20mm is worthless unless you're firing at an AA truck or a plane coming right at you (but they're usually also shooting at you and you die)

(Top speed IS high, yes but the acceleration is HORRIBLY slow, its the size of a maus, its armor is meh, it does survive mgs (dunno about .50) it gets slowed down massivley by not driving on roads, turning or moving anywhere else other than straight forward, its turning radius DOES exist but its big, unwieldy and therefore doesnt turn fast or tight. Only good thing is the cannon that slaps hard. But thats also it

I know it kind of redundant to this video and I'm 2 years late commenting on this but I would like to see a ratel 20 video. I find it to be very good if you can get a on flank route. The 20mm cannon is pretty decent at it's br or in a downtier and the missile tends to catch WW2 vehicles off guard. Especially if you arc it over a hill, which is possible to do because the binoculars are apparently on the "3rd story of the vehicle" that had me dying in this video XD

The hilarious thing is they (Gaijin) nerfed the depression (should be -10), but they actually BUFFED the missile speed! (No they didn't, I didn't dig deep enough.) The ZT-3 missile has a speed of 200 m/s, but the A2 version bumps that up to 330 m/s.

It is one of those things you look at and go "Ok, but why would literally anyone spend money developing this thing when common rifle rounds can punch right through it?" You would be better off just mounting the launcher on a jeep, it has about the same armor (maybe even a bit better since most armored jeeps can at least stop 7.62), is faster, and is presents a smaller target. I guess this thing probably has better AC and heating and can probably store more tubes? Just put the launcher on literally anything else with either more maneuverability or more armor or both. If you take away its advanced optics you could literally put this way down in 5.0 and nobody would notice. Heck technically 3.7 are more that capable of taking one out but that is a bit too early since technically around that is where most new players are. The situations it is "good" in literally any tank with top mounted ATGM would be able to do the same if not better. WALL-E is a better example of how to make a purpose-built ATGM platform that gets the launcher way up high because it doesn't put the crew in danger to do so and it can actually get going pretty quick AND it is an incredibly small target that can even bounce 50 cal frontally at the right angles.

Its a double tandem Warhead, designed to penetrate Russian MBT era. Some more modern sources even give it 1000mm penetration. Centaro ain't gonna do nothing to stop it. (Or shouldn't anyway)

Frame rate drops, 1-2sec delay from wt servers than what I see on my client. Sucks so much I haven’t played the game for 3 months but there are more reasons as to why I “quit”.
