The Brady Hough incident happened because he was using an asthma puffer throughout the week while he was sick and did so game day too. He was listed as a player but went over the amount of puffs allowed before a game and the doctors only quizzed him on it right before the bounce (which they probably should've been monitoring him anyways), the Eagles had to make the late change (bringing in Jack Williams) otherwise Hough would've got a ban for doping. Hope that clears it up

Interpretation changed slightly this year on Stand. A player (in this case Houston) shouldn't gain an advantage via deception. So faking to handball (if he doesnt step off the line) is not play on but if the player on the mark falls for it, the mark will be reset - exactly as you see here

The atkins freekick actually happened with pies vs port i think where dixon threw the ball to a pies player and not to an ump or on the ground. I think the idea is not to time waste, like you cant throw it away from the ump, it jas to be on the floor or to him

tbh it makes sense to ping him for that as well, like atkins has played the game for a good few years so doing dumb shit like that is always gonna cop something from the umps, could call it stiff but at the same time he should know better than that. He's a professional footballer and he knows what the process is for a ball up.

I don't think the ump could ping Cameron for dissent after not awarding a 50 against Maynard earlier when he did everything but threaten the umps' family after a boundary decision. I'm a Pies fan, but that was a disgrace and he should have been penalised. (Even allowing for the fact that the ball was clearly OOB, despite the AFL's statement.)

I read that goal umpire throwing the arm across signals it’s his call. But it was a bit of an odd thing at the time, I definitely got confused and thought it was a behind.

2:11 Is a correct dangerous tackle call. The umpire that is out of the zone calls it because razor ray doesn't have eyes on the head, in fact he can't see the effect of the tackle from behind, which is something the umpires have been told to look for. 3:42 Tough to see but if what I think happened is correct then this is the correct call. If the umpire signals that the ball is his/hers for a ball up, the ball has to go directly to the umpire, cannot pass it off to someone else.

Cameron-Not excusing the call. It's almost as bad as the Geelong vs Brisbane one that cost the Lions the game but... I think the umps were watching for mark infringement. I mean... Who's expecting players to make a play that overtly bad? Sicily-I don't know the exact rule for how this is adjudicated. But my by the eye view is Sicily didn't allow for the area to be cleared. Was it technically a 50m when the Dogs player entered the square? Probably. But I don't think this is an utter howler in how it came about Houston-That was probably the least accurate call that can be made. When the rule came in that was (infuriatingly) 50m. Houston didn't leave the mark so play on isn't my call. But the player kinda leaves the mark. My personal preference would be put the whistle away and let him kick English-Dude isn't a backman... Rucks aren't exactly renowned for their long and penetrating kicks or their pin point accuracy. What rucks can do is be a target down the line or neutralize a contested mark for talented mids and small forwards. Literally couldn't have had a worse choice of player for the kick in Dangerous tackle-Ideally that's left to the closest ump but I can also see how the other ump may have thought Razor's view was obstructed. Not exactly bothered by this call as it's expected when so much is going into concussion prevention WCE delay-If I'm not mistaken there was a query on use of a puffer of all things. There is an amount of (I'm guessing) Ventolin a player can have at a certain amount of time before a game. The doc realised he was over the specified amount so they pulled him. As odd as it is I think it's a great catch by the doctors even if Kane Cornes disagrees with me (oddly silent on concussion though. Funny that) Weightman-Dude you're ment to duck into tackles when you have the ball... Not the other way around. In all seriousness I hope he's ok Atkins-There was no force or time wasting there. Pretty poor call Naughton-Probably needed to put that one a little further to the left post there Redman-Not a MOTY but serious respect. Very difficult grab Miers-I don't have a problem there. Player moved over the mark before/during the whistle and moved back when asked. Audio-Hey if it's between consenting adults you do you. Again seriously. I'd love this to become a weekly segment in the oddity vid. Out of context audio Parfitt-Think he never made the decision whether to goal or pass. Just kinda inbetweened it Swans/Suns-Its aliens on the grassy knoll. The AFL are just covering it up Rodan-Thats... Odd... Isn't it the goal umpires job to adudicate... Goals? Tunneling-Free. All day free Cameron-Id call a mark but you play the whistle. Sorry Jezza Weitering-Pretty soft call but there are a lot of those. Man has the patience of a saint

Melbourne were given 2 goals - one coming from that 'dangerous' tackle and then Petracca got away with a blatant throw which lead to a goal shortly after. They both make up for the slide tackle on Van Rooyen. Blues are back!!!

So I’m the Melbourne game, you don’t call tripping? I’m a novice but I thought the rule is there for player safety. Now the argument is that you don’t want the refs controlling the outcome of the game. My counter argument is twofold, #1) while yes this was a crucial time the game, there is no guarantee calling tripping would be the deciding call leading to victory #2) you say you don’t want the refs controlling the outcome of the game but they did. The goal umpire was right there and had to as for a score review to determine if the goal was touched by Christian. I’m not sure how you “think” it was touched but you are not sure, and you have to go to a review where it was inconclusive. In my mind you are right there, it’s either he touched it or didn’t touch it and make that call with no review needed. The shot should be encapsulated and saved for future umpires on how to control the outcome of the game.
