I remember buying my first acoustic guitar. This is where you find out being left-handed is really a disadvantage in life, and no amount of mentions to the salesman of the names "Hendrix", "McCartney", "Iommi" or "Cobain" will convince them of the flaws of their inventory. No. Back in 1997 I had two to choose from. One of which was £1000. In 1997 money. I still have my budget £125 model. It's 2 feet away from me now. We've been through a lot together.

Este-BEN? Boo hiss!!! The only thing I remember in the original infomercial for Esteban's guitar program was the announcer kept saying "The Gift of GEEE-tar!" every single time he said that word it was so cringe.

I just have a cheap Estrada from the 70s. Twas my moms. I love him though, no matter how beat uo he is. I named him Steve!

So. Your ears are not deceiving you. These had horrible bonding issues with the neck. Instead of being made out of a single piece of wood, or several pieces clamped and glued, it’s comprised of wafer thin layers of veneer basically that were glued together like a sandwich and then shaved into shape. Probably over time, and having the force of the strings is causing it to bow and spread open. Either way, same quality as a Sharper Image “My First Guitar” Learn how to Play kit. It would cost more money to fix this than to get something nice at a thrift store.

I’m always kinda sad when cheapie acoustics end up like that. Broke but not worth fixing. Not even much value as a supplier of parts.

The action is terrible and having dead strings does not help. It was good in its day probably, but those days are done. Nice and short. Merry Christmas Ben
