Oddly Satisfying ice breaking. The ice falls apart by barely touching it and it produces this fascinating sound.
This video was taken on a lake in the north of Sweden during the spring melting. The warmth creates this rotten ice that falls apart or even explodes when barely touching it.

I eat icicles all the time no matter where they come from but I always dip them in ice cold water before hand to wash off any bacteria that may be on the outside of the icicles

Its a form of rotten ice called Needle ice, or Candle ice, normally forms over lakes and such, so next time your out in winter keep an eye out!
