Absolutely love the necklace Naja! Nice to see you back in the UK, I totally agree that we have a lot to learn in terms of longevity and a shift to investment pieces. I’m not sure why as a country we seem to be so obsessed with fast fashion/poor quality compared to others. I wonder if it’s because we are such a class focused country and maybe there is a pressure to keep up with trends; or the fact that we have a high level of poverty compared to some other European countries despite being a ‘wealthy’ country and a lot of people don’t have the mindset of spending their disposable income on one good piece vs a number of poor quality pieces. Anyway, apologies for the ramble! Thank you for another great video and may I also say you look beautiful today ❤

Even natural fabrics like wool and cashmere can pill, but I'd be so disappointed if my garment did that after only a few wears! I hope you were able to get a refund. I'd be interested in your thoughts/knowledge about microplastics and polyester in your planned video about longevity. It's something I've been hearing about lately in the fashion industry.
@NajaSierra6 ай бұрын
I agree, but personally I like the shape too much - plus I then get to see how things play out from wanting to report about it to the channel.

Also I was indeed planning on talking about the choice of polyester when it comes to OddMuse and it makes sense some of you picked up on/wondered about that, too.

@@NajaSierra I recently considered purchasing something from Djerf Avenue. They make a lot of sustainability claims and so I was surprised to find out the trousers I was interested in buying had such a high content of polyester... but then the product page had a lot of good reviews so I'm really torn. It's honestly becoming so hard to be a consumer.

Pilling often has to do with the quality and weave and you’re right, can happen regardless of fiber content. For me personally polyester often just does not breathe, in addition to wanting to avoid microplastics etc. - I do have some (recycled) polyester pants from NinePine that I have had a good experience with, but I was able to try them in person before buying, which was key.
@sister-kira6 ай бұрын
@@rahniamersereau I've been curious about NinePine. Their ads frequently show up on my Instagram feed. With so many other more sustainable fabrics like lyocell, I wonder why polyester remains so prevalent with companies making environmental claims. I'm no expert, but recycled polyester still sheds microplastics, from what I've read.

Hi Naja, you often talk about that you were a makeup artist before, what do you do currently, if I may ask? I’m interested where can you wear your unique pieces, because your style definitely not a casual everyday look, you seem to have many special items which can be a challenge to wear at some workplaces.
@NajaSierra6 ай бұрын
I work in digital marketing :) Just wondering which special items that I have that you consider more challenging to wear at a workplace? I may have a few but I don't think I have many. I think the key here is that to me, this style IS my every day look, but my every day look may just not be so casual. That's just how I like to dress :) But it will of course be influenced by where I am, where Zurich allows for this without you ever looking out of place.

Would you consider buying a black blazer from the curated?.
@NajaSierra6 ай бұрын
It's a VERY lovely, extremely well made blazer, but unfortunately I do not think the shape suits me so I've had to skip it. If anyone else are on the market though, I'd definitely consider it: c.klarna.com/al/AEYr/ Also it's quite similar to the Jil Sander and don't feel like I need another blazer with this type of look.

Naja what do you think about offline thirfting? Thrift stores and more expensive vintage stores? Thank you
@NajaSierra6 ай бұрын
It's really really great, and I have a few nice thrifted pieces - I just find it pretty time consuming, so I end up not doing it so much :)

Will the gold vermil tarnish?
@NajaSierra6 ай бұрын
I've seen comments from someone saying that it will, but I haven't seen that happen to other influencers yet. I'll update you as I go, though :)
@sister-kira6 ай бұрын
Yes. Gold vermeil is a term for gold plated sterling silver and it will wear off with heavy use. Solid gold is the only long-lasting tarnish-free type of gold jewelry, but gold vermeil is a good alternative for fashion and contemporary pieces at a more affordable price.* *i previously said 'cheap alternative for costume pieces,' which is an oversimplification and not the ideal terminology to use
@NajaSierra6 ай бұрын
@@sister-kira I think this is a bit unfair... Yes, Gold vermeil is plated and can (will) wear off with heavy and long enough wear - but there's a HUGE difference in quality and saying that it's a "good cheap alternative for costume pieces" is a total oversimplification, and for many, many jewelry pieces gold vermeil with suffice for many people for many years for a MUCH more affordable price.
@sister-kira6 ай бұрын
@@NajaSierra I think affordable is definitely a better word. And if you are properly informed about what you're buying, I don't think there's any issue with it. However, gold vermeil is often marketed as demi-fine jewelry, and some companies make claims that give the customer the illusion it's as good as solid gold. Its quality largely depends on the manufacturing process (how much nickel is used in the plating, for example, will have an effect on its durability). If you aren't someone who has hypoallergenic needs and doesn't plan to wear it in the shower, etc., then it's definitely a good alternative to solid gold, especially given the price difference. But at the end of the day, solid gold is more long-lasting, requires less maintenance, and maintains its value over time. I work at an auction house, and in the last 5-10 years, we are encountering more and more gold vermeil and the quality really varies.
