I never listened to anything of hers back in the day, but a few weeks ago, I saw her on an SNL repeat from '75. She did The Man With The Child in His Eyes, and I was amazed by her creativity and talent. I'm making up for lost time now, learning and listening to all I can from this ethereal lady.

@@edmundpower1250 I’m so very happy to see it. As an American, I blame the radio stations for not picking up on her genius when they had the chance back then.

"Why did the great Bob Harris not do this?? he knew his stuff. And was not smug" Bob Harris was effectively fired from the Whistle Test in the late '70s because of his resistance to punk rock. He was replaced by Annie Nightingale for a few years, then these two came in, then Andy "professional music snob" Kershaw joined and it was cancelled quite soon after by Janet Street Porter.

As well as liking to play the didgeridoo, Rolf Harris is also fond of popping out said didgeridoo for a spot of kiddyfiddlydoo when it arises.

I've seen some other interviews of Kate Bush. Most of them ask about boyfriends and how she does her hair and other bullshit like that. At least these guys were talking about the music, which is what she likes to talk about, so don't give them too hard a time. I do agree they were a bit ignorant about Rolf's talent though.
@joesmith342 жыл бұрын
@knebworth1986. You re right it s the same with Adele today. Adele just bought a house from Sylvester Stallone they would nt say how do you feel paying $60 mill. Rolf Harris? Nobody knew about his antics in those days.

How odd, putting Kate in the middle. There's nothing more off-putting than being interviewed like that. Liked the fact that they had supposedly been "Doing lots of research" before that final question so i'm thinking here comes the deep and meaningful one. Not a bit of it and off they go about "Genius of Love". Lame end to a lame interview. That said, Kate is absolutely gorgeous in this interview. As she still is. Charming, humble and forever engaging. There's yer genius of love. Right there!

Jeez, she never ever, loses her temper with the idiots who interview her. Have you seen that horrible US interview where the technicians paw her around and the interviewer obviously doesn't have a clue? In her position, I would have bludgeoned them. And lord, these people don't even know about the didjeridoo .....

@keithdeweese tell you what!!! You comment on my comment but the other guy's you let pass? I would suggest that all brits over the age of 25 can name her greatest hits and those over 30 can probably sing most of them. She is an english legend. Maybe you would like to reply to other comment below that I had originally questioned.

@TheLionheart1012 They were never really on my radar, I'd seen them on The Old Grey Whistle Test in it's dying days, while I was waiting to see the Rain Parade. However. I now see them as they are. Two talking heads, talking to each other. Notice how they put Kate Bush in between them, like some sort of empty headed, self satisfied interrogation squad. No wonder she gave up interviews after this. Her genius, thankfully, gracefully transcends such a travesty.
@eccremocarpusscaber51594 жыл бұрын
kirkwallboy what? She on the middle of them because they are interviewing her. Crazy, I know! The interview is very much of its time, and things are certainly better now. But there are many, MANY worse interviews with Kate!

I remember these two guys, they seemed to like taking the p*** out of the acts. TOGWT and music programmes in general deteriorated to the point that they needed to go. "What is a didgeridoo?" Its a musical instrument mate; but then you clearly don't know what music is either.

I can just imagine the meeting before Kate came in to be interviewed. I WANT TO INTERVIEW HER! - I'VE BEEN HERE THE LONGEST! - I'M OLDER! - I'M THE BIGGEST FAN! Obviously they both fancied her and to stop the squabbling, the producer says: OK - BOTH OF YOU INTERVIEW HER. STOP BITCHIN!
