One year later and Russia is now using these on the battlefield. Great to see someone with one, thanks for the video!

LoL I came here after hearing that same thing and seeing the video of a couple DesertCross's with their Russian Soldiers getting ANNHILATED by Ukrainian Cluster Bombs! Wild Stuff but I have to say I like the DesertCross, but I would not take a vehicle with NO ARMORE like this into an ACTIVE WAR ZONE!!!

@Comm0ut They use these in pair with motorcycles and battle taxis to try to overwhelm ukr defenses in the first phase of offensive operations. Even when they fail, they are still useful for exposing camouflaged positions and firing point to drones and long range bombs. That's the main reason for why these tactics are succesful. Because russians retain a firepower advantage and the US "shat the bed" with badly needed aid.

Well the cart is not bad but the way it is used is the problem, it should be used to transport units to the frontlines

You can’t expect to turn an infantry squad into an armored infantry squad with this vehicle. But its price ($20,000) is only a quarter of that of a rifleman, which means you effectively upgrade each infantry squad into a motorized infantry squad for free. This allows the squad to move quickly and carry more heavy weapons and drones. Additionally, this vehicle is less likely to get stuck in muddy terrain.

@@WilliamSheepo russia is not paying $20k for China for one of these. Nobody knows how much but it's not that. $20k includes fees, taxes, import costs, profits, etc while russia is paying them tax free straight from the manufacturer, most likely heavily subsidized by the CCP. Another point, russia has no price on the individual soldier. They pay initial fee for signing into the war but if you watched any amount of videos of russians "training" their soldiers, there is none in the western sense of the word. At worst, untrained men are fighting in the frontlines two weeks after signing the papers. Two weeks. Calling russian soldiers "mechanized infantry" is an insult to all the trained mechanized infantry in the world. They are "mechanized" by the fact that they drive over with a vehicle to the fight and that's it. The vehicles range from civilian Lada's to Bukhankas to Cold War BMP's to these golf-karts. The gear is the same, the "training" is the same and the survival chance is even less then with any other regular grunts at the frontlines. Driving with one of these doesn't "upgrade" the soldiers as they lack the training and the equipment. These vehicles are there to get over the field quickly and that's it. No strategies, no tactics, just get over the killing fields faster.

@@alaric_ 1,indeed, the desertcrossers sell cheaper than $20k in china. 2, not very sure about the death pension for each soldier in Russia, in China and US its about 100K dollars, =4 desertcrossers. 3, read carefully, "motorized infantry"
