The voice is sampled from the movie Sphere......BUT Sharon Stone was in the movie so you were half way there!

@@_User333 Unfortunately you are absolutely right, the book was great but it just didn't transcend to the movie. Still worth a watch if you have an hour and a half to kill. BY THE WAY........according to Wiki you were correct about that being Sharon Stones voice! I learn something new everyday.
