Elated to finally see this out. Golden Features is one of my favorite artists at the moment, and his dark and atmospheric style of house music always brings something original to the table. While this remix deviates quite a lot from the breezy and uplifting tone of the original, it doesn't sound disjointed from it. In fact, it sounds fucking awesome. If you guys like this then go check out Golden Features' debut album "Sect" from this year, I discovered it only recently but I love the hell out of it.

The original song is like.... sure it's uplifting and happy, but it's very shallow. It doesn't actually make me feel any better. It's just like "Everyone feels bad sometimes, it'll be okay eventually don't worry 🤗" That doesn't help me. It feels like it's from the perspective of someone who's trying to help their friend through a hard time, while not actually experiencing it themself. but THIS VERSION. This version feels like YOU'RE the one who has fallen. You're at your absolute lowest point, your darkest hour. The vocals of the original song are chopped up, nothing anyone says to "cheer you up" actually matters, it means nothing to you. You're completely lost in the darkness of your own soul. But deep down, you've still got that determination within you to not give up. You have to keep going. You have to fight. You're not going to give up now. No one else can lift you up, you have to drag yourself out of that pit. This remix has helped me through my "falls" more than the original song ever could.
