I remember being with my father at hospital for his cancer treatment, and on the way to the hospital, at the radio they were playing Odesza songs. This song started playing when we were looking for park spots. Those lyrics, remained in my mind, "You're only crying, you're only dying, You're only dead." - I kinda went like this, everybody cried alot when we were hit by that "Your father has cancer" and we all knew, even himself, as the time flies he was only dying with all his treatments made, and one year away the final has come.. he died. I don't know, it's so strange, to return to this song.. and to have all those memories in mind like a flash. Like it was yesterday. Rest in peace, Dad. Great songs, btw. Keep it going.

I heard this song today inside an MRI machine. They asked me if I wanted to listen to music on Pandora while I was getting scanned. I requested chillstep and this was the first song to play. It was my first MRI, and I am slightly claustrophobic so I kept my eyes closed the entire time, and the music instantly calmed and transported me to another place. The torrent of cold air, the machine's vibrations and radio waves coursing through me and the intense heat that creates, the lights, the movements, the sounds, the music.. it was pretty surreal.

There is so much more to this song than just what is written... Lyrics: I heard the news today; That you’re not mine to keep. Don’t struggle too much now While I kill you in your sleep. What is lust if it’s not being by yourself? I won’t be gentle to the body on the shelf It’s only water It’s only fire It’s only love It’s only slaughter We’re only liars It’s only blood They’re only thoughts that I’m having; Thoughts safe within my head. You’re only crying You’re only dying You’re only red. I heard the news today, That you weren’t mine to save I hope that you’re comfortable In the quiet lasting grave What is lust if it’s not being by yourself? I won’t be gentle to the body on the shelf. It’s only water It’s only fire It’s only love It’s only slaughter We’re only liars It’s only blood They’re only thoughts that I’m having; Thoughts safe within my head. You’re only crying You’re only dying You’re only dead It’s only water It’s only fire It’s only love It’s only slaughter We’re only liars It’s only blood They’re only thoughts that I’m having; Thoughts safe within my head. dr octagon As an English major, I tend to delve into words...something not everyone does...so I thought I'd state the matter of fact because some think that what they read is what is implied when there is so much more to this song's lyrics. I guess it could be funny to some.

I heard this song for the first time last year on a summer drive through the mountains with my best friend. Since then I've moved away and gotten engaged and I don't see her much. She's my maid of honor and I'll be playing this at my wedding. No matter how far apart we live or how long we go without seeing each other, this song will always remind me of her.

+Isaiah Wakeen You're welcome Bro. Just keep telling her you love her to bits, and when the time comes thank her for her friendship; and thank God for her life. Losing a loved pet is like a wounded scar that you never want to have healed. Take time to grieve, Don't rush into; thinking I'll get another dog to replace her, time will tell you when you're ready. And when you do get another dog, Never compare it to the dog you lost or let it hear you speak of it, as they understand by feeling the vibes when you do. My mother has made that mistake with her new 20 month old puppy, since he's heard her compare him to her old dog to her friends; even whilst talking on the phone, he has become very testing and disobedient to her.

I'm here because Noel shared it on FB. anyone else? BTW I love songs in which the lyrics are miles away from the melody, like Pumped up kicks or Don't fear the reaper. So this song made weirdly happy.

Hi Rachel. I had hoped you would see this. I just wanted you to know that I love you. I've loved you before many times and I still do. You know me even though you don't. The universe is alot bigger than you thought, sweetheart. I'm out here. And I love you.

I had only heard a remix of this and my friend out of nowhere sent me the link to the original. I liked the remix but had no idea how good the original is. This actually might be the best song I've ever heard in my entire life. I honestly can't think of anything I dislike about it.

Songs can become even deeper, get a new layer of meaning, according to your life story. ... this song now comes to me as some story it always wanted to tell me and has done in the past. It´s like I´ve discovered a second script, like I can see another meaning. I´m really sad right now. Good day to you reading this! Keep fighting! We are all here to turn a curse into a blessing...
