check the actual research papers the habit of eating chana or paneer has came to India with the Portuguese influence; before that time it was considered impure to have milk that is already curdled. sanskrit texts dating back the portuguise trading times says so. odissa was unable to show any original document that proves the practice of eating chana back then.

@@skull9469 and for your kind information, since you don't have any knowledge regarding the sweet, the brown color is not from gud(Jaggery) but from caramelizing sugar before making the syrup that gives it a beautiful brown natural colour. If you don't know anything, first research and then comment.

@@NOVA10993 Thats not how things work. If you come to Odisha, anyone will tell you best RasaGola is pahala's. Other places are there and some may make better than pahala's but pahala is the authentic one. Likewise i went to kolkata, ate Balram's, Gupta brother's and the most famous one that is chittaranjan's. Even went to swati's 270 types of rosgolla's but same spongey texture everywhere. Swatis Gud wala rasagola somewhat come near to our pahala but still ours is better. I am not saying this out of pride or anything. Those who are not bengalis nor odia and have tasted both rasagolas..always claim ours is better .Now i dont want to go to a remote district to taste rasagola so sorry, i would have to decline that.

I am from Odisha I and all my Odia friends know and support this theory that Rasagola was invented in West Bengal and Rasagola was not invented in Odisha I am a student of history so this fact is true and all my History Teachers agree with me and West Bengal got the First GI tag for Rasagola.

After eating more than 25+ varieties of sweets..how 1 will like Roshogolla? Roshogolla is well balanced sweet! Ap akele sirf akele roshogolla and sandesh kha sakte ho Bohat sare..but mujhe bhi koi 20+ varieties 1 day mei khane ko bole even I will also be unable to relish rosogolla..same thing happened with Akshay! I have been to Odisha and Bengal. Being a Odia I think Bengal's Rosogolla is better because it is not over sweetened, balanced one. In Bengal, since lot of sweets are available.. If you will have 10/15 types of sweet in 1 day..then anyone will feel that Rosogolla of bengal is not good because you palate gets accustomed with sweets! Same thing happended with Akshay..they went there, have more than 20 types of sweet so naturally Rosogolla's taste will not bloom up in their palate! Same thing happened to me! So after that when after having a meal I just had rosogolla and sandesh..it was a heavenly matched!

Even in durga dashmi after maa durga visarjan it is ritual to give roshogolla to our elders and friends as a greetings of vijaya dasami,... In bengal when people visit to their relatives or love one's house it is must to take roshogolla for them ( inspite of having any other stuffs and sweet ) it is a must to carry roshogolla .... In wedding and any puja we offer doi chire ( curd and white poha ) mix with roshogolla which is must to add roshogolla ! In bengal after a heavy khanti bangali food it is a custom followed by our lovly maa kakima's to offer roshogolla at the end of meal .... When someone gets good news , they are given roshogolla as (mishti mukh) as a treat ...... When jamai goes to his in law's house during any occasion it's a custom to take roshogolla hari ( a full pot filled with roshogolla ) as a sign of respect and love for his In law's! Go to any bengali association pujas you will surely surely get roshogolla in bhog prasad with bengali's own speacial khichdi... let it be any bengali puja committe you will definitely see roshogolla being served with pride ! In baby's annaprasan after feeding him payesh ( kheer) he tastes roshogolla for the first time! During the ritual Even when someone dies , in his uttarkriya the bhog offered to the hevenly person contains roshogolla in his last meal! Do you gaizz have this much emotion with roshogolla ,,,if not then you can dance with your GI tag No one is bothered ... don't know from were they suddently come and shout RosogolLA amaroooo##*&^ Dance with your GI tag

Actually kiska original hai nahi hai mujhe to nahi pata per GI Tag ke hisab se dekha jaye to 2017 mein West Bengal ko pehle GI Tag ka darja mila bad mein Odisa ko mila. Both the states have their own version of rasgulla. Though I haven't tried the odisa version of rasgulla but I would definitely try my life. Aur ek cheez yeh hai jab rasgulla ki baat aati hai to maximum log Wes Bengal ka hi naam lete hain. Odisa ka rasgulla ka naam bahut kam log lete hain. Mujhe recent years mein pata chala ki Odisa bhi rasgulla ke liye jane jate hain.
