The way that F- add 9 rounds off the phrase at 0:33 makes my heart flutter every time... Same with how dynamically soft the final part of the piece is. Such an inspiring and beautiful piece.

I played this at a concert and while I was waiting for my turn, I forgot how to enter a specific part in the piece. I watched your video upside down as if I were playing it and remembered again, the concert went great! You saved me, thank you so much!

just found out I had the music for this. tried it a few months ago and it was too hard, but this inspired me to work on it again
@tobiassmith71567 жыл бұрын
TheKnowlesy56 it's not really that hard if you break it into pieces. played this on my exam. and that was only after playing for 2 years.

Fabulous. Got the sheet music for this and I'm working on it! I'd love to see this played from 'your' perspective if possible - so I can see your mallet positions. I'm turning the screen upside down by my vibraphone at the moment! You play this piece beautifully and with mastery. Thank you.

Hello, I want to ask where can you get the sheet music?

Nice job! Which mallet are you using?
@OdieDrums4 ай бұрын
They were some prototypes, but the closest to them would be the Vic Firth Contemporary Series. Three M241's and one M240. Hope that helps!

Great performance! Enjoy another interpretation of «Blues for Gilbert» by Ling Sun: kzbin.info/www/bejne/j5eqiImQhsulo5o

Some great vibes here on KZbin but so little use of vibrato nowadays am I old fashioned ? One of my favourite players after many years is still Dave Pike using quite a fast vib in Pikes Peak for example. I am not comfortable playing without vib as I think it enhances the sound. Personal taste I suppose !
@austinmortiere40187 жыл бұрын
Honestly I love the sound of vibrato on vibes, but I think it's a little overbearing when it's constant. It may be a stretch, but I'd kind of like to see vibraphones made with a second, smaller pedal to control vibrato speed while playing...that'd make it a lot more dynamic and useful, in my opinion!
@Mr.LenardDrums7 жыл бұрын
Malletech created a vibraphone (Love Vibes, I believe) that has a pedal that does just that. They got rid of the pulsar fans and put in a shutter. This also allows for dynamic changes, too. It takes a bit of practice at first to get the hang of it, but it's a pretty cool concept.

No me gusta!!! Siento que es muy seca, y no tan expresiva como debería ser. Pero sin embargo, no es que este mal ejecutada. (Sólo una opinión). Aún así, buen trabajo.

Vic Firth M187's (the mallets were blue because they were prototypes, now they come only in black, but sound exactly the same)
