A very good showcase. Just the right variety of games (rythm, racing, action etc.). Sprites in MvC2 are perfect, no noticeable latency in Amplitude, no slowdown in most racing games with more than one car on screen and also no slowdown in open world scenarios like Shadow of the Colossus. All in all very informative.

Impressive! I know it can go way higher than 4x on many of these games. On my Odin base I can get Wipeout Pulse to play at like 5x-6x, the 3200 x whatever res and it's beautiful! I really want this device but man, the Canadian dollar is pretty low, $508cdn for the pro $403 for the base .I can wait, the Odin is still a great device. Great video! Glad to see you're back!

Haha no doubt it could, but I figured 4x was a sweet spot that would work on most games. One day I will see how far I can push it although there really is no reason to double the screen resolution except for giggles.

now i'm really getting excited for my order to ship. i really like my retroid pocket 3+, but this device is basically a generational leap. not to mention the bigger and higher res screen, better controls, and better ergonomics. i was hoping that the loki would be my next device, but the odin2 just seemed too good to pass up.

@@RedBullAddict-_- it's a great device, but if you specifically want GC games, I wouldn't recommend it for that. Sure, it can run some GC games fine, but you'll have to lower resolution, or maybe underclock. Also, the screen is a bit small for GC and ps2 games imo.

I bought the Odin 2 max with PS2 being my main goal. Only a handful of PS2 games that i play though. Funny that I never see them tested. Kya dark lineage Project Snowblind Sphinx and Cursed Mummy Splashdown rides gone wild. And a few PS1 and PSP games.

Yup, it's just the way some code works, or in this case doesn't. Software updates are what will solve it not better hardware

Well on PC you just go HArdware mode on PCSX2 if you got a good rig, I know nothing about phone emulation so I was hoping the snazzy Snapdragon Gen 2 could substitute for it @@What-ks9co

hi man, im using odin 2 and im playing NFS Most Wanted. sometimes FPS got dropped and the music will slow, the game will slow too. im using openGL 3.5x, performance mode, Fan Smart. why still like that? what setting i must change it? thank you

Great testing i currently own a odin lite, so far pretty happy with the performance thinking of upgrading but not 100% yet. Can you test driver 3 or driver parallel line, that game can't run at all on the lite. Ps2 version

Friendly Tip : DO NOT buy the white version Odin 2. The plastic quality is bad and absorbs everything that it touches that is a different color. Mine became red after swiping the screen with a microfiber cloth used for glasses. So I tried that same cloth of a white ps5 controller...and it did leave some red color as well, but it was super easily wiped off with an alcohol wipe....but on the Odin 2, its IMPOSSIBLE to clean, I tried alcohol wipe, even toothpaste and ended up damaging the shell finish even more, but the red stains didnt come out. I regret not buying the black model. I paid so much money to have the Max model too, and now after 2 weeks it looks like crap.

Oh Man , I only have Pal ROMs ..... Being from Australia will it really make a difference if I use NTSC ROMs 3x etc ? Love the vids , time to retire the retriod pocket 3+ now , can wait for my Odin 2 to ship

Nothing wrong with using PAL roms but generally they were designed to run at 50Hz/50FPS while NTSC would be 60. We often used PAL before because they are less demanding to reach “full speed.” I wanted to use NTSC specifically to be certain they were more demanding on the hardware. Some PAL games (especially more modern ones) have 60Hz options, but older consoles like the Super NES and Megadrive definitely didn’t.

I agree. Even playing above the resolution of the screen does give benefits. Every time I talk about it people act like I'm crazy, but if you render higher than the screen resolution you are getting "free" supersampling. Now, on small screens the benefit is minimal, but it's definitely there.

All of this was just the "Safe" setting. There is plenty of room for tweaking.
