@impishDCfan85 85 The Viking Age has a lot of gaps in it, and the Norse themselves didn't really write much - if anything - down in a historical record. Most of what we know, we know from the writings of their enemies, and even then it's often difficult to verify one way or the other. Even Ragnar himself, whilst a famous hero in their sagas, may never actually have existed as an actual flesh and blood human being. We just don't know.

I just now realized this. So many times in the series, they said Bjorn might have been Rollo's son. So either this scene clearly tells you *"NOPE, he's not"* , either it tells you that even if him and Ragnar weren't blood related, their relationship was as strong (if not stronger) as a blood related fater-son relationship to the point where Odin truly considered him as a son of Ragnar anyway. 🤔

This also confirms 'the stranger' was Loki. As in Norse Mythology Loki often presents himself as Odin to gain power and drive his own interests. The fact Odin here is played by a different Actor confirms the theory. What a TV series, one of my favourites to this day 💪💪 SKAL!

Fun fact, all Britannic original royal houses, including the house of Wessex (Alfred the Great), claim direct descendancy from Odin. It may be that there was a real historical figure who, in addition to being a common ancestor, served as a basis for the mythical Odin.

The sene in the beginning of the show when they took alf captive (don’t know how to spell his name) and when they were on their way back to the boats they were met by Christians to fight who outnumbered them but Ragnar and his crew dropped their things and went straight to fighting. That was the best Viking scene but ever since after the first season they weren’t the “big bad Vikings” who aren’t afraid of a fight and can beat everyone like they portrayed in the beginning of the show. But that’s typical with all shows that have to due with badasses
