The "in Universe" answer for why the webshooter doesn't fire off when Peter throws a punch or grabs for something is because they are calibrated to function with the pressure of just two fingers. Any more or less pressure won't trigger the shooter.
@Retro_Red

I thought it was programmed to only fire when the user presses the trigger twice in rapid succession.
@OptimusPhillip

I'd like to add that in some explanations, Peter has calibrated the trigger to his super strength. That, combined with the 'double tap' prevents accidental discharge while throwing a punch.

Yea, the accidental web shot is a question I've boggled with for a while. The answer I like best is from the 90s cartoon where Peter explains to a fan that, when he built the web shooter, he added a trigger that was programed to only respond to the specific pressure of his fingers, so that it wouldn't fire off when he made a fist or grabbed something. That's the answer I like best anyway. Awesome work by the way Odin, keep it up man

Spiderman’s web shooters are pressure sensitive, so it will only activate when he applies the right amount of pressure so it doesn’t shoot when he is holding something or making a fist.

If I'm remembering right the reason that stuff like holding a cup of coffee doesn't set off the web shooters is because peter designed them so that it takes an extremely specific amount of pressure pushing down on them to shoot webs both so they don't shoot on accident and so no one but him (or the other spider-people) could use them

I found that when using my wood burning tool to make score lines if I pull it towards me, rather than dragging from end to end, the lines are smoother. Going with instead of against the grain, so to speak. Also I bought a string of fairy lights for a glowing orb on top of a staff that had that neat little battery pack - I hid it by wrapping a piece of leather around the staff, bunching the cord under the pack, then wrapping the leather over the pack. There's a slight bump (because I was rushing to get the staff done) but it's not that noticeable. I tied the loose end of the leather with a couple leather strips, so I can access the pack to turn it on and off and change out the batteries.

Originally, Peter's webshooters required a certain amount of pressure in order to activate, and were activated with a double press/"double click." So Peter could hold beverages and other objects in his hands and not risk his webshooters accidently firing. The amount of pressure and how long he held the button down also influenced what kind of webs he made, from web-ropes to web-nets to web-parachutes. But it's been a long time since I've read his comics, so I don't know how it's explained now.

I always thought the web came out on the palm side of his wrist, so that he can grab it as it leaves the shooters. I remember the classic shooting pose being arm out, palm up, hand angled down, with the two middle fingers pressing the palm. But for the life of me, I can't picture MCU's Peter's pose when he shoots.

I remember hearing that due to the bonding process of the adamantium to his skeleton, he was incapable of bending his wrists like that. And yet there's plenty of examples of him bending them. I'm guessing he's got some kind of muscular control of them to prevent that, if not actual physical channels that get blocked off to prevent that. It's like when you rub an itch in your eyes. You don't gouge them out of your skull every time, you have control of your muscles to exert the right pressure at the right time.

Spectacular job on the webshooters, I laughed every time you called them webslingers lol! I'm defiantly going to make these now since I've been looking for a tutorial for the Iron Spider MCU Webshooters thanks Odin I'm going to download the pattern right away. Have a great week Odin also I'm super excited to see No Way Home how about you? Peace :)
