no, this is completely wrong. Odin wanted sif and the valkyries to "distract" him in niffleheim. Odin controls the raven teleport spell, so he 100% wanted sif and the valkyries there. This was so that sif would make Thor kill Atreus, when he, Odin, would make the valkyries stand down. With Atreus dead, Odin could blame Atreus' death on Thor (when kratos inevitably would seek revenge) and take the mask from Atreus' cold hands so he could use it. However, Odin didn't know that Sindri had given Atreus the escape orb because Sindri had given the orb OUTSIDE Sindri's house, which meant Odin disguised as Tyr had not seen Sindri do this, so his plan failed and Atreus escaped into the realm between realms with the mask. As a plan B Odin tried to make our protagonists "sneak" into asgard. When that failed, Odin resorted to simply taking the mask as Tyr and teleporting away to asgard to use the mask, but Brock hit it out of his hands which would cost him his life. Odin admits all of this when he says "now that wasn't part of the plan, but if he dies we're square for Heimdall and trust me, you've got a bargain."

It would make sense. With the mask completed Atreus/Loki lost his leverage and wasn't of much use anymore. Though I doubt he would've wanted Atreus dead, he was much more useful alive and as a hostage.

Except then how did Heimdall use the teleportation in Helheim without Odin being around? Answer: It’s because Huginn controls the teleportation. If Odin controlled it then he would’ve plopped Atreus straight into Asgard instead of forcing him to climb the wall, which even the Midgardian boy (I forget his name) says it’s almost impossible. And since Huginn is mindless he follows every Aesir order.

He might require them (or any raven) for it but he is the one who casts it. Heimdall teleporting away is 100% something Odin planned for Heimdall to do. Dropping Atreus in asgardian realm but outside the walls of asgard is pure strategy and manipulation on Odin's part and it is actually explained by sif to thrud. It's embarrassing that I have to explain it actually. Atreus is dropped off outside of asgard as a test. First he is attacked by simple monsters which he deals with no problem. Then he meets a young midgardian boy named skjaldr, which literally translates to "shield" from old norse, at the base of hrimthur's wall next to skjaldr's village, named "new midgard", situated perfectly between the wall and tyr's temple. Atreus is meant to see this and report back to our protagonists that "hey, if we attack asgard all humans will die in the attack." The next test is to see if atreus can scale the wall. It isn't really important if atreus can or not but what is is that this sets up conflict with heimdall, the guardian of the wall, protector of asgard. By trying to scale the wall and almost succeeding if it weren't for heimdall, heimdall gives atreus an unpleasant welcome to asgard because heimdall sees him as a threat. This does 2 things. It makes Odin seem like the good guy, because he told Heimdall to stop his annoying bullshit, but it also made heimdall tell Odin about atreus' true intentions by coming to asgard.

I have another Theory; Do you know in GoW 4, when your in Tyrs temple and find Mimirs missing eye, you can see a Celtic rune/image. But have you noticed Mimirs accent is Scottish, and Celtic mythology takes place in Scotland? Maybe he is from there, and Tyr found him on his travels? Just a thought

The Ravens are Odin's power, no one was or went anywhere he didn't want them to be, that used the raven teleportation. Pay attention to that detail and you'll see Odin was playing chess before he showed up at Kratos door.
