That moment when you realize that Odin could've EASILY killed every single Eikon he faced, yet was forced to go easy on them all because Mythos had to collect all their powers, including his own. I still wonder how the story would've gone if Barnabas had decided to disobey Ultima, or if someone else was the Dominant of Odin. Heck, imagine if it had been Hugo. That psychopath would cut mountains, seas and cities like butter.

I think part of Odin's strength comes from the fact that Barnabas was Akashic, he probably had a unique advantage because he had more aether in his body. But still, I love how Barnabas is different from all the other Dominants. He understands what the Eikons really are; weapons, and he is quick to spot how each of the Dominants, including Clive, relies on them to win their battles. That's why he was able to humble Clive twice without even priming, he saw the weakness in Clive's technique and philosophy and exploited it fully, using an inordinate amount of strength to cripple him before he could prime, because he knew Clive wouldn't go all out at the beginning. Literally in one strike he humbled the most powerful man in the world and made him afraid. What an awesome character.

when I thought Bahamut going berserk and almost destroyed the planet with Zettaflare was a show of power, this guy just splits the ocean in one slash. I know it doesn't sound comparable now I've written it down, but still

Right. I just passed this part. Bahamut’s dominant was supercharged from ingesting crystalline aether. Which probably is the case for Odin’s dominant. I was expecting Clive, and Joshua to harness their unstoppable synergy. But they remained inconveniently apart. I still think Odin would’ve given them too much trouble regardless.

This whole sequence that starts when Clive, Joshua, Byron and Gav hold the Akashic, to when Clive jumps into the ship, to this part where Odin splits the sea, has a battle you have to lose, and delivers some of the best lines in the game. This whole sequence is PURE classic FF, the true evolution to FF6-9. This game just makes me VERY eager to see that FF9 remake, Square is allegedly cooking, and how this level of production value and spectacle would translate to the more cartoonish art style. Just imagine that Kuja fight like HOLY SHIT

I really hate how this will not appear on PC until over a year. I lack the self control to not watch all these video's. I'll likely know the entire story before the month is over, let alone a full year. Especially considering how interesting it looks. Barnabas seems like an interesting villain. He has that eloquence with no true malice, but duty that makes him so interesting.

@@jefthereaperGod of war ragnorok, Horizon forbidden west, Last of Us part 1, Spider-Man miles morales (1 and upcoming 2) upcoming lords of the fallen, and so much more upcoming. Trust me, you would not be getting it for 1 fantastic game. I’ve been on PC my whole life and grew up on Xbox 360 and XBox 1, never touched a PlayStation… and let me just say, a PS5 was the best investment I could’ve ever had gotten. IT IS WORTH IT!

Man, and here i thought i never saw Baranabas in his Limit Break from but it seems to be his right arm having the same material from his eikon form on his left arm as well as a sort of scarf probably from his cape wrapping on his shoulder and his arm holding the Zantetsuken Plus in the 2nd fight of Barnabas in his tower where he goes mad insane, he goes Pseudo-Eikon where hes basically a bigger version of Barnabas wearing Odin's armor and his helmet but without the horse along with pinkish/blue light covering his body So Barnabas/Odin has 2 limit breaks one for Barnabas and one for Odin without his horse

Barnabas should've been more directly involved with Clive at the beginning of the story to set him up properly as the nemesis. For a character who is intended as the antithesis of Clive's ideal, he did nothing to challenge that ideal other than besting him in combat. Heck, he even looks like the edgier version of Clive.
