en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Troy_Donockley Donockley was born in Workington, Cumbria; his parents were members of a band called Travelling Country. At the age of 16, Troy joined them, playing at many venues in West Cumbria. His father's record collection was broad and gave his son a love of classical, rock, country as well as traditional music. He is a multi-instrumentalist and a master of the Uilleann pipes. His ambition as a teenager was to travel the world as a musician, but hated "empty pop created by cynical twerps".[2] The strangeness of the sound of the Uilleann pipes enabled him to become a session musician with prog-rockers The Enid in 1987 on their album 'The Seed and the Sower'.

If and when you do "The greatest show on Earth" please do the Tampere version. Some will say the sound quality is better on the wembly version but the spectacle and energy in the Tampere version far outweighs what might be lacking in sound quality.

Good mood song! :) Troy, multi-instrumentalist. Plays about a dozen instruments. Once, an interviewer asked him how many different instruments he could play. Troy listed all 12 of them, which are also officially mentioned to him. The interviewer was amazed, but asked "can you play something else yet". Troy replied that he could not play more. But yes, he gets some kind of sound out of about a dozen other instruments! Now the good question is, was he just humble or was he joking? Both options are just as possible! Personally, I think he can at some level play more instruments than the dozen he mentioned. But that playing level may not be so high that Troy would list them on the instruments he knows. That is, for example, he would never come on stage to play them.

Greatest Show on Earth yes, please the Tampere version and watch it till the very end of the credits, its important for the spoken words, and finaly you saw Troy the sixt member of the band, here he was playing the bouzouki and flute, but check him also out in I Want My Tears Back, either from Wacken or Buenos Aires where he plays the Uillean pipes :) you will love that sound

Very nice reaction - I like to visit your channel! I do not know if you noticed, but your reactions are changing, they are more and more rich, multi-threaded and this is very cool because you do not focus on one aspect - vocals, guitars, drums or keyboards but you see it as a whole - a group of musicians meet and each of them does everything to make a part of it sound their best - it's not a studio, it's live, so it's not that obvious, because you can't cut and fix anything - but they do it and do it great creating a whole - a song that it touches, grabs the heart, reaches the listener and makes you want to listen to them more. But they not only create the song we listen to - they do a lot more - they interact with the audience, they create a unique atmosphere that is amazing and that's why it's so worth listening to the live version, because it gives us more than the studio version. And they can create this atmosphere also because they themselves have a great atmosphere in the band - notice how great they have fun together during the performance - it's no coincidence that this is given to the audience. Have you noticed how often Tuomas smiles from behind the keyboard? Is he happy that the concert is going well and that the audience is reacting lively? Certainly, because that's what it is all about, but I think that it is primarily the joy of the creator - a composer who has a group of fantastic artists around him, but also good friends who can perfectly perform his compositions and show them to the public. I may be wrong, but I think many times during a performance she thinks - damn it sounds exactly what I wanted it to sound when I wrote this. I've been listening to Nightwish for many years and have seen a lot of their concerts live - maybe I'm wrong - but I think Tuomas has never smiled so much as he does now, when Floor joined the band. You paid attention to Troy and rightly so, because he is a musician and vocalist who enriched the band's sound a lot - he is a multi-instrumentalist and you must pay attention to him in your next reactions. A good track to hear more is "I Want My Tears Back" - I definitely recommend it! The version from Wacken 2013 is excellent, but there is also the version from Buenos Aires 2019 - it was South America and the audience and the band got into sheer madness! Both are worth seeing - choose which one you will react to - both are excellent! Wacken 2013 - kzbin.info/www/bejne/nZKQmYVteL6VrbM Buenos Aires - kzbin.info/www/bejne/inOylZqun8djoa8 Greetings from Poland!

Hi Odin, another great reaction! I would say DON'T do TGSOE just yet imo... go for both Weak Fantasy and My Walden before that, they're on the same album and play into the overall theme of human evolution. TGSOE goes through the entirety of the history of Earth, so it's a marathon of a song, I'd suggest reacting to either the Wembley (has a nice surprise at the end) or Tampere (more spectacular) versions and maybe to have the lyrics either on screen or open somewhere else, there's a hell of a lot to take in. And watch the WHOLE video, a lot of reactors mistakenly stop watching before the whole 21 minutes is over :P
@StergiosMekras4 жыл бұрын
Yup. My Walden is a must, before TGSOE. The Islander would be nice too.

My interpretation is it being about a couple who have been together for a lifetime and look back on their life and how they prepare for death and are content with what they have seen in their life. This one is a real step towards The Greatest Show On Earth. All I can say is We Were Here. You will understand once you do The Greatest Show On Earth Also to note, pre 2014 it was Jukka Nevalainen who was on drums. His good pal Kai took over as he was suffering from chronic Insomnia. He's still with the band in a managerial position. He was a animal on drums. Kai is a beast. Nightwish have never had a human on drums🤣🤣🤣

I must say, please please look up the lyrics for The Greatest Show On Earth. It would definitely up your view 10 fold of just listening to the song and not understand what's being projected, especially for this one if any and all others hehe. I, for one would be willing to wait if it meant what I know it would truly mean in your own interpretation for lack of a better word. I hope others would agree, so don't just take my word for it. :)
