➡️Heard of Brahmaputra river turning red? Some say the iron rich soil of the River Bank turns red in monsoon and flows into water. But it is believed that it is when Kamakhya Temple is shut down for 3 days to celebrate menstrual cycle of the goddess. And he festival name is Ambubachi Festival which is very famous.
➡️Most sacred Shakti Peetha, because it is believed that the womb of the goddess Sati fell here. Thus is is also synonymous with Supreme female power abd fertility.
➡️It is believed to be the reason for the creation of world. Deboteed come here to worship the fallen yoni(womb) of divine mother goddess Sati whixh is in the form of Goddess Kamakhya.
➡️According to Kalika Purana, Kamakhya Temple denotes the spot where Sati used to retire in secret to satisfy her Armour with Shiva
➡️The origin of black magic and Tantras
➡️Known for Animal beheading. People offer goats, pigeons, even buffaloes to the goddess.
PS: To reach here,there are public transportation and sharing vehicles too. You can easily navigate to this place through maps.
Also you can enjoy scenic views while riding up the mountains(little ghats) since it's on top of hill. It is generally crowded, so take your time for visit
