Please read the video's description for updates, corrections, and additional information. Reply to this comment if you have any relevant questions, and I will add them to the FAQ: FAQ: ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Q: How long have you been working on this for? A: I started learning bits and pieces in June 2024, playing it off-and-on until August. This is around when I started putting most of my free time into this track, so roughly six or seven months as of posting this video in January 2025. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Q: How difficult is this? A: Doing this tech correctly requires very precise inputs and timings, but most of the difficulty is from the timings. Releasing a drift on the bouncy mushrooms even one frame too late can lose 5-10 km/h in my experience and testing, so doing it well requires a lot of muscle memory. Because being a frame or two off can create such large differences in speeds and trajectories, it also requires a lot of trial and error. You need to know how to adapt to your line on the spot if you don't want to severely mess up. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Q: Can I learn this, too? A: Yes! My goal for this series is to explain all of my inputs in a way that will help anyone willing to dedicate a week or more to learning the inputs and timings. Just note that you will almost certainly need a controller with stick inputs to do this. I'm afraid the directions are too precise for wheel, but feel free to prove me wrong if you are really good at it. For reference, you can drive mid 35 laps without using any of this tech. If you aren't getting anything faster, you are either doing something wrong or need to practice more. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Q: Where can I find one-on-one help for this? A: Contact me through Discord. You can find me in the ODB TT Server if you are unable to reach me from anywhere else. I've linked the ODB TT Leaderboards in the description, and there is an invite link to the discord on the Introduction page. Please provide good recordings of your attempts with an input viewer. I can distinguish inputs pretty well if you don't have a mod or software to display an input viewer, but I will be able to provide a much more accurate critique if I can see the exact inputs. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Q: What is my goal for this track? A: Sub-30 flap time and either a 1:35 or 1:36 3lap time. The latter depends on what kinds of paces I can get once I start implementing more strategies from the TASes. -----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

@flambambam theres a new odm strategy for dk mountain discovered by arthur, and is rta viable, and your chance for another wr! LET... FLAMBAMBAM... COOOOOOOOOOK!!!!!!!!!!
@flambambam21 күн бұрын
@@HistoryTrains yes, it is on my bucket list to try it. Arthur (the one who created and posted that proof-of-concept) had been in contact with me for a week or two prior as he worked on things. It isn't necessarily new, as there is a kart TAS that's really fast there using slope boosting (basically the same tech). Arthur just did it with odb

genuinely this tech and your videos as a whole have inspired me to get a wii and start playing mk wii again knowing that there is more or less uncharted territory to explore and practice from scratch, thank you very much for the video

amazing work flambambam. its really cool that until this day, new techs are being applied to mkw. imagine telling someone in the 2010's that odbs would have 2 3-lap wrs at the same time one day? crazy. this is a very informative video, and surely will help more people figure out this now not so obscure tech! again, congrats in wr and for being the pioneer for odb momentum.

i said outside drift momentum could be RTA viable years ago and everyone called me a fool saying its TAS only! I think we'll see at least another course with outside drift bike world record! Rainbow road is a good contender since outside drift also lets you take the cut, and the outside drift kart is already WR there
