another one of the Pinnacle a minute type people. 10 years ago it was routine to be the only Pinnacle nowadays half the ship is. It actually used to be a good program.

Did you have any issues with noise from the solarium deck above?

The Solarium people never complained about the music I was playing or the guests I had over late at night. So this time it was uneventful. The real answer is this: anytime your cabin is on a Royal ship below a pool or the buffet, you are going to get loud, unusual noises early in the morning. This is because this they drag the loungers around and make them into pretty rows. Or, they are rolling carts of food or dishes from one area of the buffet to another. Guess what? the floor below the pool or buffet is always but always full of those big pricey suite category rooms. So the folks that spend the most get the weird noises early in the morning. Now, the most noise distracting rooms are Boardwalk balconies or those big, big suites on Icon. This is because waterslides and the Ultimate Abyss mean screaming. And nearly everyone screams when they go down these slides.

You did realize later that it was a safe and not a microwave, right?

Ugh! That door was so frustrating I punished it by putting the hair dryer in there and giving it a nuke but the stupid thing would not turn on. But the door remained closed so I guess I won in the end. And the Tardis and the time travel I was hoping for? Turned out to just be of all things...just an ordinary shower. FYI: During my trip I was not distracted at all by hallway or neighbor noise. They have gotten really good at soundproofing these Quantum class cabins. Even the pool chairs above on deck 14 were not nearly as noticeable as other below pool deck cabins.
