Bro some characters roll immediately after falling, for example monkey King and jet, itu can use tine manipulation to except show shadow move cannot be connected. and bomb+ heavy deals more damage it's like a combo.

Some shadow combos can do even more damafe than normal shadow move. For example: after special attack - > activate shadow form - > heavy kick - > heavy punch. It works only from the middle of arena. You can change the last attack with jumping kick or with basic if you are close to your opponent Or there is corner combos. Special attack - > shadow form - > roll to him - > basic and then chain your attack to him because he is in the corner. Might use the bomb and then whatever attack you like

You got the answer already One more point i would like to add Attacks don't let your opponent gain shadow energy whereas if you perform shadow move them your opponent has a chance to gain shadow energy during that time. So yea that's another reason

If you're struggling against his forward shadow move then try to maximise the distance or try to jump over him. To avoid his back shadow attack you can either roll or jump. But if you're struggling against him in general try to use any anti shadow hero or specially Jack Bulwark with unlimited fractures build. Also selecting any type of defence increasing figh bonuses would help:-)
