Thanks for the idea. Instead of fabricating something I simply used the backrest on a old barstool I had laying around.

Nice work. I am looking into making a backrest for my Ryker as well. I have the passenger drop down backrest so mine will need to be made differently, but your video gave me some good ideas. One suggestion I would make that may work better for you is go back to your original idea of wrapping and stapling but remove the two lower drop areas where you attach with bolts. That's causing the material to do funky stretches and bends. Then make a piece of vinyl to cover the stapled area on back and use upholstery nails to fasten it to the back.

I did think of that as well . I’m not sure it would be worth it for me to redo the upholstery . I do think I’ll have it done professionally as I would like it to match the factory seat and have some custom embroidery . That’s way above my skill set .

On the removal of the lower wings . They actually lower the support which is what I wanted in the first place . The stock version places pressure to high and to centered o. My back if that makes sense . To me the more contact area the better .
