I got the Idoing HU, kicker tweeters, alpine door speakers. Sub and amp. Also sound deadend the trunk and all doors. Sounds crisp!🔥🙌🏼

heck yeah brother those are an upgrade in sound! But the door speaker install is not that bad and was easier than I thought and made the system sound even better. the tweeters are where you need to start. Side note the ground kit I installed in the engine bay helped a lot as well surprisingly!

Great review man. I just bought these for my 2015 Subaru Crosstrek on Amazon. I'm super new at car audio, so I don't know a whole lot-- I wanted to get tweeters that didn't require any soldering or extra capacitors, so these seemed to fit the bill. I actually replaced the head unit with an iDoing, and my door speakers are JBL 621F's. I still have to put silicone baffles on the door speakers to make them sound a bit nicer, but this is good reassurance that they were worth the buy. Thanks!

Going to have to pick these up. Extremely easy install by the looks of it. Idoing Headunit did wonders for the speakers on mine. Sounds 100x better. Maybe pick that up before changing out the door speakers.

It was super easy! Did you retain all of the steering wheel buttons with switching head units?

I'm going to cleanly drill balanced two center opposite balanced ports on top split speaker boks grey carpet in four segments then put in hatchbak ports so six by nine speaker will last plus wire solder instead of angry loose plus minus speaker wiring without solder so speakers will survive.

Tweeters were a good upgrade! Think twice about the doors. Some adapters and a little work gives you better results. The kicker upgrades Weren’t worth it for me.

Just wish the tweeters weren't a metal diaphragm. To me, the metal makes it sound to pingy. I prefer a warmer/softer tone of textile/silk. The only reason I have not done this "upgrade". Sound deaden your doors before swapping out the door speakers.

I upgraded to these on a stock sti system, but i dont know what equalizer settings to use to take advantage of the tweeters. Any help or tips?

To be honest, I left the settings as-is to compare the Kicker tweeters to the stock ones. The preset I picked was “Rock”under settings. I set the balance slightly towards the front half of the car too. Hope this helps a little.

If you want a seriously good system in your WRX, get a good amp, a line output converter, door speakers, a subwoofer and a friend who knows what they're doing to help you. That's what I did in my WRX and it blows the Harmon Kardon system out of the water.

@@ronfromportland the amplifier is the toughest choice because your amp is what forces your decision of speakers and wire gauge.

It doesn't look like you had any difficulties mounting the Kicker tweeters. I've heard that the mounting holes don't line-up just right?

No issues with this model WRX. I know the layout is a bit different on my 22 Outback so it might be different for the VB WRX as well. That’s probably what you’re referring to. Perfect fitment on the 2018s!
