thank you mam that was helpful i have a small doubt though stroke is a disease too then why "a" in front of stroke but not angina ??
@GHOSTYTCODM Жыл бұрын
Exactly, I have the same question. Can someone explain please?
@farzanaabidАй бұрын
In short: "A stroke" refers to a specific, one-time medical event. "Angina" refers to a general, recurring condition or symptom, not a specific, single event.

I would like to ask a question.As u said name of disease is uncountable,why u use “a” stroke(stroke is name of disease?).first time should not use “a”
@maisal-shibly2683 жыл бұрын
Yeah it is confusing for me also

Stroke is singular, countable noun, but CVA is uncountable disease condition. So you can use 'a 'stroke.

stroke is a disease, and as you mentioned the name of the disease is uncountable, so how we can use a?
@benchmarkeducation3 жыл бұрын
Good question! As stroke is a sudden event, it could possibly be the reason it's written as a countable noun. It's always written as "a stroke". He has/had a stroke.
