7:17 is not a charge, it is a push by a team not in control of the ball. The score counts as the ball has left the hands before contact.

9:50 is not a charge. A player without the ball is allowed free movement subjective to time and space. He caught the ball in the air, and was not allowed to land without contact.

is there an instruction for the referee to blow multipe times their whistle in order to make clear that it isnt a defensive foul? because they do that on almost all clips
@gmailz68544 ай бұрын
Late response but, it has to do with the energy of certain calls. The offensive foul is the most energetic call in basketball so the referees want to try and match that energy with their whistle and mechanics. This is all to make themselves seem stronger and more reputable.

From my perspective, the one at 2:44 should be a no call. Anybody who can explain why?

Because there was a small push with the shoulder probably but I also disagree, I would give travels

You are correct. I missed that play. The replay was not good and it was a lot of scramble. But the correct call. Thank you for noticing.

The first attacking foul is Luka's fault. The other one cannot correct his position in attack and cannot avoid it. That's what the rule says. It's the defender's foul.

The elements of time and distance do not apply to a player with the ball :)

Those referee are wrong, if the defensive player is in the charge/no charge zone no ofensive foul will be called, if the defensive player lift his feet no foul will be called, the defensive player have to stay still at the contact time to be an ofensive foul, if the defensive player is in movement and happen a contact defensive foul will be called. Hahah those FIBA referee required a good training
@cptfwiffoАй бұрын
Nope. if the defensive player is in the charge/nocharge semicircle *and* the offensive player is airborne, *and* the offensive player passes over the semicircle, is when no charge will be called. Elbows, yanking arms aside, etc, they are still called. The defensive player may move backwards during the contact. If the offensive player is not airborne, the nocharge semiricle does not apply. And neither does it if the offensive player goes airborne from behind the backboard, since the offensive player does not pass over the semicircle.
