Austin is actually a pretty decent clean singer. He used to do screams and cleans for his first band "Call It Even". You can find some of their songs on KZbin.

Just to clear things up, I was at this festival/gig and asking Alexandria weren't there, they just played the song through the speakers between bands' sets :) this was fucking awesome though, I met Austin twice that day, and had a photo with Tino before their set. I wish they'd come play round my way again.

mann, he doesn’t even cup the mic in the studio. every vid i’ve ever seen of him recording was done with no cupping at all. even in the attack attack days. I hate when people say he can’t scream so he cups the mic, literally just a bad habit when he performs live. even clean vocalists like Kurt Travis (formerly from dance gavin dance) still cup the mic, and kurt is an amazing vocalist.

i know as a vocalist it takes a rediculous amount of stamina to sing and do vocals, especially when this is one of the last songs they played that night.. so for his voice to sound the way it does (which is awesome) is extra hard! the man is talented, this was good, but their first few songs would have been better because there would have been less stress to his voice

oh yeah totally. I give him mad props for stepping up and filling in for cleans. But I've seen them with a sub for Shayley and he sounded just fine. They should have a singer that replaced Shayley and give Austin a break. But idk I just miss Shayley in the band :(
