Off Camera Flash Placement - Where & Why?

I've had some viewers ask about light placement in past videos. So hopefully this video will help answer some questions. It probably won't answer all questions, so please, feel free to ask questions in the Comment Section below!
Remember, each photographer will do things their way and the way I light, works best for me. I'm open to suggestions, but if it doesn't work for me, then it probably won't make it into my workflow. Find the way that works for you!

always great content and helpful. you mention position a lot, but Ive always wondered.... is the center of the flash directed actually right at her face, is it lower, higher, and or feathered left or right? no one ever seems to say when the best times to feather may be.. thanks

I've noticed you always use a grid on your octobox. Do you notice much difference, using it in your outdoor shots?

It controls the spill of the light. When I need more light, I can pull it off and it gives me more light, but less control of it. When I pull it off, yes I notice it.

how do you avoid hot spots (bright spots)... I struggle with that. Is it the distance from subject to flash or size of modifier? what could help?

Diffusion over the modifier definitely helps. Mine are double diffused and I use the grid often. That helps.

Bruh, simply put - you positioned your flash roughly 45 degree to the subject and use the sun as fill. Can you use the rest of the 10-12 minutes content showing us how you dial in the background with the exposure triangle, and show us your method of setting the flash power??? And also show us the difference with placing the light at 45 compares to 90 degree.
