The unistrut comes in a bare metal finish - I chose to paint it lime green. Spacers/bolts/brackets have been fitted with sturdy washers to avoid the bracket from bending over time. Black end caps have also been fitted since the recording of this video. Video coming soon!.

Might be worth flipping the brackets over so the panel drops about 2 inches into the frame.

Looks great. I couldn't see if you had, but if not you will need collars in between the brackets & rails because as the bracket bends into the channel over time and vibration the bolts need something to tighten onto or will become loose.

Nope, they’re made to be in the sun and there’s plenty of air gap underneath to allow them to work perfectly

Hi Mel and Becky, you mentioned the voltage on a ctek 250se. A quick question if I may Mel. Ive got a 150 watt panel on viv-i-van which outputs 18.5 volts. if I was to get an identical panel and wire it in parallell with the existing one, would both still give me 18.5 volts so I dont blow my ctek up? Should have left the question for waffle on a wednesday but you havent done any for a few weeks lol. Best regards-Kenny

Mel says if you run the solar in parallel then yes it’ll be ok. In series - no. Good luck!

Why have you chosen to leave unistrut green ? Also those cut ends need treating or you’ll get rusty streaks down the side of your van……I know, I know we’re all armchair experts 😂

All the unistrut I’ve treated with red oxide paint and then I’ve painted them lime green on top. The unistrut came just plain galvanised before the start of this video 👍🏻. I’ve got a unistrut painting video coming up soon 👋🏻

I was thinking the same thing those brackets he drilled out need painting ,otherwise the dreddid rust will attack your roof🙄👍
