I really appreciate the info provided. I am considering trying it myself

Seems you have some cleaning up to do, but nice job. The only addon I'd recommend is something like a voltage regulator for those sensitive appliances that need precisely 12v. Other than that looks like you off to a great start in being off the grid!

Very interesting idea. What is the name of the DC inline Watt Meter?
@crazyenergyprojects5 жыл бұрын
Watts Up is the name of the meter shown but there are many cheaper options these days on Amazon or eBay.

Do you have some kind of ADSL that uses phone lines for Internet? Just curious if your Internet also works when the power goes out in your area. If not, you could probably just run your router on A/C to reduce battery consumption. Well, unless maybe it is also wirelessly streaming your PC to your TV or something, but in that case, the CPU's would go to sleep every 3 minutes, which would make viewing difficult.

Very useful video. Have you any experience of the cut off voltage as the battery goes below 12V?
@crazyenergyprojects5 жыл бұрын
I don't since I never let my battery voltage dip below 12.3v.

So we don't need a DC to DC PSU for any of these that compansate for voltage variations?
@crazyenergyprojects5 жыл бұрын
Nope. All of these devices have on board regulation for voltage.

So to be clear... The NUC will take 12 volts straight from a cigarette lighter as well as the monitor?
@crazyenergyprojects5 жыл бұрын
Yes, it will run from 12v-20v without issue.

Some NUCs have a 12-24V input range. You just have to Google the model number and click on the Ark.Intel product page to see what the input range is. I think the Nuc will run on 11V though I haven't tested it. Worse that can happen is that it shuts off.

hi I would like to know the source of your desktop DC PSU you mentioned briefly. Please
@crazyenergyprojects5 жыл бұрын
For a regular desktop DC power supply I used an M4-ATX from www.mini-box.com. The Nuc doesn't need one of these though.
