Was just going to suggest that. They had a lot of oops moments that would be good to see before doing the same project. Always good to learn from others. I think they leveled out the top of the walls first and then put the ring beam in. Seems like an easier way to level out all that lumber.😅

@@portugalitis Yes, they weren’t confident about putting up stone themselves. But after watching them do the window openings they actually could have done a wonderful job. With experience comes more confidence. But they covered up the tijolos nicely with render and it looks more intentional now. Love your idea to use stones. Even if they’re smaller it will be a nice design feature.

Thank You for doing the ring beam right!! By recessing it so You can add stone to hide it. Many don't do that to save time and money and it ruins the charm and character of the build. Love watching the progress!! Thanks for the smiles!!

The roof is looking so good. It will be great in the end, especially with those nice bricks 'G' moved with the tractor. Good work 'G'. Funny Guffy jumped the gun when the tractor was started. ❤ Hard work but I can see what your ridge beams are going to look like when you are done. You have a lot of climbing, rock and cement to get that all done. The garden is looking wonderful with your vegetables and flowers! And it is hot now and short hours. Your determination to get this done is just amazing. Your home is going to be lovely. @@portugalitis I am not good with heights either, so I understand how you feel about getting up on the ridge of the roof. But you will get the walls fixed and that there is a lot of that to do, so that will be helpful to the finish. I noticed the shot with the fireplace removed. I am looking forward to seeing how you eventually furnish the inside! My tomatoes are only now starting to ripen so it is going to be a bit yet before we enjoy them. I used the “yeast” fertilizer recently, we have had so much rain, the cucumbers are not happy so I am hoping the yeast will help them!

fingers crossed cucumbers will come back !! hey don't like cold weather .. next week will be 4-5 days when it will be 40 or over .. so I thing my cucumbers in green house won't survive ... as it's so hot .. but when |I planted them I knew that this is just for few months as they don.t like HOT summers .. Just saying 😉.

Hello Rita :) we said from the start we don't want stairs ... when I will get older I am not fancy climbing stairs ... and it will be plenty space as it is now .. So many people who watched us on TV and then came to see us said that house looks so much smaller on TV as it is in real life .. Trust me All is good and we will have plenty space Gxxxx

oh guys you are really hard working people but why you are doing things in the hard way???wooden molds etc ???just build the roof frame with concrete bricks and put the wooden polls between them...bravo G for the tractor driving-we ,the women are equal to the men abillities !!! and guys ...please fullfill the water pool with water and swim and enjoy ...we have a ready piscina in the hot Portugal summer-use it and enjoy it...
