Next tip: you are jumping "inside the circle", try throwing the leg "outside the circle" = jump forward, the free leg is supposed to go in front, knee far forward and the free foot is supposed to go in front too (not stay behind) ! My explanations are definitely not clear, sorry about that... you can definitely google this 🙃 Keep going, you are doing a great job !!

@@alexandrasalle1725 I know what you mean, and it feels natural now to jump outside the circle with my skates on but in my shoes I don’t feel the same circle effect as when I’m on my edge, but I’ll try really forcing it outside next time. Thank you!!

I have similar technqiue with my off-skate axel(not off-ice becuz I do inline skating aswell), the only problem I have is my leg wrap, I want it tighter😅

@@DaveCalungsod the pros make it look like it just wraps up tight in its own 😂

Wait.... We can practice without skates?
@SolidSkates2 ай бұрын
@@IsaacGallegos no promises on how helpful each drill is though 😬 it feels like I’m just guessing and hoping certain drills help haha, I think only certain drills only work for certain people to an extent so I’m just trying them all

There is nothing wrong with your air position, but your landing position is very wrong. When kids learn to skate, they practice the landing position all the time. Off ice: just the position, holding it for 10-20 sec. On ice: a few backward crossovers, and then just hold and glide backwards in the landing position. On every lesson. Before they even try the waltz jump. It becomes muscle memory, after some time your body automatically gets into position, no matter how bad the jump is. So I suggest to practice it off ice: do a little hop and land in the landing position and hold. On skates: backward crossovers and hold. In the meantime you can practice the 1A off-ice with ankle weight, because skates are much heavier than trainers. Just to get used to the extra weight on your feet.

@@buskergirl by landing position do you mean being fully checked out with my leg and arm all the way out? And that makes sense they would start by learning this before the jumps and emphasize it so much. I’m gonna really focus on it, thanks for the feedback, I don’t know anyone with any kind of ice skating experience let alone lessons so if all helps 😁
