Smart to leave that last strap on. The old guys who trained me always did that, good habit to show off. Stay safe! 💖💖

Great video I’m new to the towing scene an what I have found that helps me tremendously is keeping a bottle of dish soap in my truck you can get a good size bottle of generic dish soap at dollar tree for a buck so when your skis are giving you a hard time dab a line of soap from front to back on the bottom of the ski then put it back under the wheel as long as your car is still secured with your j hooks then you have no worries of the car sliding to much or to quickly it has saved me countless amounts of time when unloading hardheaded vehicles like that one 👍🏽

I have never in my life seen someone manually push a car off their bed when using skates 😅
@Str3tch332 жыл бұрын
I’m 2 moths in being a tow truck driver and I did this on a truck with no skates on my 4th day. 😅. I literally did this same exact process. The front wheels did rotate so that made it easier but ahh man the headache that was to do that job especially by myself was great experience.

That’s why I carry 2 jacks on my truck I’ll jack up both side if it really doesn’t wanna come off and that will give me plenty of clearance to roll my bed out without dragging the bumper. Especially on some of these luxury vehicles that don’t have hook points where I need to v strap it jacking it just gives me more room to reach under there and unhook.

I think its a better idea to pick up from the back and once the front wheels hit the ground then you can drive the truck forward. However this is best for uni body FWD SUV. Because if you shake the bed to get the front wheels off you can damage the front bumper too.

If you had legal access to the vehicle , why not use the shift lock over ride ?

What do you do when an AWD SUV does not have enough height clearance to be towed? The apartment complex has very low clearance and 3 tow companies have told me to use rollers to push it to the street. Brand new 2023 Mazda, Vehicle does not turn on and also gears are stuck.

Would it be easier to just use the wheel lift. I struggle with these often.
@505fastlife66 күн бұрын
This might be a dumb question, but wouldn't it make it a lot easier to use the wheel lift instead of loading it on the bed?

Greetings from Russia! clearly a professional in his field! I just watched on KZbin how tow truck operators work in Japan, of course their equipment is good, you can’t argue with that, but they walk around in helmets and work very slowly😁 Why are there no new? videos?

Skates are not the right tool for the job on a bed that is full of ridges. They might do ok on a smooth floor steel bed. Wheel dollies are the best tool for the job . whoever will make a successful wheel dolly for the rollback industry is going to make a ton of money. I am surprised that none of the big players in the industry like "in the ditch" , "collins", or "go jack" did not jump on the opportunity.
@velzor1234 ай бұрын
Because the real towies just use degreaser, I have a set of dollies and they are 3x more work

How do you roll a car backward that's brakes are locked up or in park? Now in reality the car won't move. You'll need to reverse skate with the winch And a shit ton of dish soap and have a truck that's bed goes high or quick enough to rock it off. "That's the thing that sucks about skates"🤣🤣🤣
@roberthammond95968 ай бұрын
