this cover of yours reminded me of a friend i've known for almost 3 years, and i only met him online, but i'm sure our friendship was the only one i will always remember for the rest of my life. i want to get this off my chest because i don't think i can ever tell him how much i miss him. we started off as a love-hate friendship but we got along well than others. i was the talker, he was the listener. i bugged him everytime but he was always fast at giving response. i was grateful for it. and even though i sometimes talked nonsense, he'll always remember every details and laugh about it. i thought there were no problems but gradually we were losing contact and connection with each other. that was also the time when i was going through a hard time but i couldn't tell him, because i felt that we weren't close enough anymore. it was even harder for me to isolated myself away from everyone, especially from him 'cause i know better than anyone that he'll be the one to be hurt the most. i didn't even say goodbye and sorry. after almost a year, i contacted him but i couldn't say the things i wanted to say. but we talked just like the old times, but i was guilty enough and i left again. for the second time i ran away, i knew he won't be the same. i came back again and tried to talk to him. this time i learned many things and i was able to say how much i missed him and how hard it was without him. but before doing this, i knew we can't have the same treatment and friendship anymore. i was ready for it. but even so, i can't help but tell him from time to time that we talk that i'm so sorry for everything, and he wouldn't know what i'm talking about and say it's okay, but at least i knew he was pretending not to know, because he doesn't want to talk about it. he was still kind to me, but he changed a lot and set the boundaries. i found the right timing and gave him reassurance that he doesn't have to pretend that it's okay, and then he told me he went through it even tougher than i did. we used to make promises to each other, but i was the one to always break it. but this time i told him that he won't go through the same thing again, 'i promise it's true this time.' ever since, i couldn't bring myself to face him. even though how much i want to, i said to myself that it won't help. that nothing is gonna change for the better if i go to him. it was dumb. it was a really stupid decision. i watched him from afar, and i can say he's better now. i don't want to ruin him again. it's the opposite for me though. i'm sure there are people who goes through the same thing as i did. and it just proves that it's not always the romantic relationships that would hurt and make someone suffer the most. a friendship is going to last longer, and it's going to hurt more as hell than those relationships.
