Dodge finally added a lot of things Ford has had all these years, such as lane keeping, adaptive cruise, list goes on. So yeah, it took dodge 4 years to catch up. And guess what? In two more years Ford gets a refresh, and then Ram will have to go another 4 years just to catch up again.

Two different trucks for two different purposes. The Raptors powertrain is focused on what it was built for. The powertrain in the Rebel is not the best Ram offers. Not to mention, when it comes to the best of the best, Dodge Ram reigns king with the Cummins! When it comes to the big boy power trains the Cummins is in a league of its own. Ford makes an excellent diesel/gas engine but, Dodge edges out the victory handily.

The problem here is that Ram hasn't TRULY built a truck that focuses on the same purpose as the Raptor. They had a great concept with the Ram Runner many years ago but, ultimately let go of it. They didn't put much effort into it even though it was a superior off road (only) truck compared to the Raptor. They had another concept called the Ram Rebel TRX in 2016 and never put it into production. That said, the Rebel in this video might have a smaller engine than the Raptor (doesn't mean inferior) but, can tow WAY more weight and is more luxurious at a much cheaper price point. Now, the Ram Power Wagon is a lot heavier than the Raptor but, can do 90+% of what the Raptor does off road. Which is incredible considering how heavy it is. Off roading favors great tires, good suspension, axel/differential, etc. before horse power. And the lighter the truck, the better in most cases. Yet, the Power Wagon gets through obstacles it shouldn't lol.

A real review. Yes we all know the raptor wins if we’re discussing off-roading but most people think the rebel is already crazy looking enough. I just don’t find things impressive when they’re as costly as they are touted. It’s just not even a close companion. The rebel is a real truck, with a good price, and it has really sharp look inside and out. I think the rebel is just the better buy; you’re getting utility from a rebel too. It’s also more than $10k cheaper. Who else besides ram has made an off-road truck that isn’t $100k?

My Raptor has never been bellow 17 mpg, of course I’m not just test driving it off-road, I daily drive it. But I do Baja every 6 weeks and run it hard, 20k miles on it, worth every penny. And you’ll keep a lot more of those pennies too....

Impossible, you would need to be off-road 85% of the time and run Baja or sport mode only! I reset my MPG on a Baja run, 840 miles of Baja off-road hard stop and go driving on 4x4 and got a 13.2 MPG average. I would take your truck in for a check up if you get anything under 14 Mpg average.

But there is a 4x4 package for the Ram, which also adds a (less pronounced than FX4) sticker to the side of the bed. Jist like the F-150. But those aren't off road trucks. Not even close to the Rebel.

This comparison in a nutshell, you go to grocery store and you want Fruit Loops (Raptor) or Circus O's in the big bag. The Rebel is trying to suck up the customers who can't afford the Raptor, even the name is a give away. Kick the wife out (because she says, no way on the Raptor) and get a Raptor. Be nice about it though and let her take the box of Circus O's. It's what I did, best decision ever.

Thought this was a good review...The RAM interior is top of the class for sure and I think it looks good and finally no doubt about it the V-8 will always sounds better!....HOWEVER I've owned my 18' Raptor for a while now and minus the engine sound you simply don't care with all the power that turbo V-6 makes. The interior is outclassed by the RAM but it's no slouch either and yes it cost more, but you get more then any other truck offers period!...Between the drive modes, the rear locker, a Torsen LSD up front, 4.10 gears, the 10 sp trans and by the way have you ever tried to shift manually off roading at speed or bouncing around with a column shifter?...it sucks!....(how does the RAM manually shift with the hocky puck?) That extra cost gets you paddle shifters, of a good old console shifter... Yes I paid more for my Raptor, but as a guy that takes his truck out to the desert (and yes down to Baja also) as nice as the RAM is I'll keep my Raptor...:) Thanks for the video...

I have the 2018 ford raptor and its a great truck on road and off road. However im not happy about the durability . I drove 10 K and already had to change the axel seal . Its taken care by the dealer , but it really getting your nerves.
