Best adventure bike review ever, thank you! Exactly the right amount of swearing gibberish that I'd expect to hear in my own helmet on a ride like that.
@dracer352 жыл бұрын
Funny how you keep saying people don't really ride these bigger bikes offroad yet that's exactly what we want to do. After doing just about every kind of riding possible from enduro racing to a cross country dual sport trip on the TAT on a KTM 500exc. I realized that the little bikes were not much fun for adventure riding. They are so easy to ride that I get bored unless you are on some hardcore single track. Sold it and have been having a ton of fun riding bigger adventure bikes anywhere from 950 to 1200 cc and its been a blast! You actually have to work on improving your riding skill and then overcoming those extremely hard obstacles is so much more exhilarating and rewarding than on a little dual sport. Obviously big adv bikes aren't for everyone but for the rest of us, they can be the most fun on two wheels.

great episode, Boothy on the beans, great on the mountain and appears to be very handy off-road as well, great that this time the bike didn't break on him riding off-road, and a 44teeth group test!! Awesome, make sure all four of you are involved, Statham, Sue, Mossy and Boothy, 4 different makes, shoot it out

Boothy's constant stream of "oh sh!t" moments reminds me of my own internal dialogue when riding, sadly though, when I say it, I'm not doing anything exceptional, just riding along...

I’ve already gushed over the design of the GT Explorer in your previous vid, but I can’t get over how attractive these bikes are and yet how capable and how well they seem to handle as legitimate do-everything long distance touring options.

Aw yeah. This is the review I was waiting for. This is exactly how I'm going to ride the thing (though maybe take it a little easier on the throttle), so great to see that it is living up to expectations. Great video. Thanks for posting the actual off-road video and not just talking about it like everyone else. What a cool spot to ride.

Nice stuff! My only niggle is that Triumph always brings both the GT and the Rally to these launches and you test both in their natural habitat. Makes me wonder how the Rally is ON the the road or how the GT is OFF it. I know most GT owners will never take the bike off-road but ALL the Rally's will spend the vast majority of their time on it, so what is it like to ride?

Agreed! I’m an architectural designer so this sort of attention to detail in bikes, cars, what have you, often times becomes glaring design mishaps that I might see but most might not or even care about. I like to emphasize when such care has been taken and applaud the designers, considering design is hardly ever done in a vacuum. You always have to contend with the goals of the engineering teams, bean counters, and overall ethos of the brand you work under. This bike strikes a nice balance between utility and contemporary design IMO. This and the new Norden 901 are ADVs I’d actually enjoy staring at in my garage, as much as I would enjoy touring with it.

What a legend! Great footage. The sound of that engine is heavenly, Ducati with a soupçon of R1. Triumph finally makes an engine that doesn’t sound like a washing machine on spin. Think I’ll be feeling quite patriotic on my next bike if they continue down this route 👍

Love to get Chris' take on this on how it compares to his GS when he gets to try it. Sure it'll be biased but to be honest it's what Triumph is gunning for; converting people from a GS to this. Excited to watch the group test. Cheers Boothy

@@SickBikeDude Yeah but is he not the "typical" GS owner that never goes off-road? Aren't Triump aiming for that crowd? The less adventurous ADV bike owners you might say.

@@_Makanko_ yea you’re def right. I’d def would love to hear his take on road performance. Plus the Tiger comes in green and he loves green. I just cant see him doing any tests off road lol. But if he does he will complain and it will be glorious.

@Elysian_Angel_2 жыл бұрын
Yes, those bikes are more capable off-road than you’d think. I found that the most important thing to have is at least a basic amount of confidence: it’s just between your ears. Beyond that, the bike does most of the work for you. I ride a 1250GSA myself.
@ToriADVMoto2 жыл бұрын
I love this kind of real hard riding footage... I wanna see back to back on the exact same track at the same place with a GS. So far I have not heard one reviewer say " this is better that a GS off road. I often wonder why triumph didn't develop a belly tank or some way to get the fuel low in this bike? Especially as tall as this engine is.

Boothy, it was good to see all the Dakar training paid off and you put it to good use😎 Very impressive how nimble it seems for such a big bike plus a great sound track for when you got to pin the throttle. Great to see Triumph going for it. Big fan & own 2 road Triumphs. Just not sure if I'm missing something! Test covers two very focused bikes. One for road, one for offroad. The sound great in each case but to compare to the other adventure bikes you surely have to test each in the other environment, say the GT offroad. Does that make sense?

Seems like this bike suffers from the same "easy to stall" issue my Scrambler 1200XE had before I put a booster on it. Seems like I've read quite a few Triumphs suffer from this. Other than that though, really am looking to get a test ride some day.
