Thanks for the knowledge drop. Great video and content! I've only got a bit over 1K miles on my Himmy but most of it has been off-road and today after a 2 hour trail with my stock MT-60s I'm pretty sure I'll be upgrading to knobbies once I go through their tread.
@ONTWOWHEELSBEN3 жыл бұрын
yes, change to knobbies and this will become a whole new bike.

Really nice comments about tyres, we don't want any type of BIG word comments from others, but this type of sincere comments will help a lot from a person like u, and as always 💕 towards u n ur videos and channel, which is really going to be a celebrity channel in the very near future. Salutes @ben

Thanks for sharing, Ben. My rear tyre is nearing the end of its life cycle and I think I will stick to CEAT just coz how versatile it is how my riding has predominantly been on new to extremely broken tarmac. PS: Sweet terrain. We have some pretty sweet riverbed terrain close to where I live, gotta explore it soon.
@ONTWOWHEELSBEN3 жыл бұрын
Yes , the stock CEAT’S are a fantastic example of versatility. It’s always a good idea to stick to them if you don’t intend on doing specific riding .

After seeing your video I got the same set, timsun was very hard time find but hell yeah!!!! This is a totally different bike offroad! It's the best set we can get in India for Himalayan. By the way 130 is not the hight of the tyre🙂 Nice channel and message me if you come to goa we'll go offroad👍✌
@ONTWOWHEELSBEN3 жыл бұрын
Thanks for the kind acknowledgment dear friend. Also I never mentioned 130 as the height of the tyre . Pls watch that part in the video again to understand what one means by profile ratio .

@@ONTWOWHEELSBEN oh so maybe can teach me something 🙂 how the width of the tyre make the bike higher ? Really love all mecanic tips you're giving, very useful ! I highly recommend your channel to all Himalayan's owner!!!
@ONTWOWHEELSBEN3 жыл бұрын
@@jungle_rider not just the width brother . 90%of 130 is 117 mm which is 9 mm higher than 90% of 120 which is 108 . This 9 mm addition to the diameter of the tyre pushes the bike higher by 1 cm again because of the new angle / pivot in the suspension linkage.

Bro i just bought apollo tyre I did onroad and road grip is good What bout the offroad grip??
@ONTWOWHEELSBEN3 жыл бұрын
I find the ceat tyres to be better off road .
@rayan_sahad3 жыл бұрын
Dont use apollo bro. Versatility and confidence is more on ceat for me . Slush stick amidst the grips more often in apollo , iam more of an road person and occasionally offroads . Ceat works fine for me

@Ruchir17123 жыл бұрын
Hey Ben! How are you? What would be your suggestion for completely road biased tyres for Himalayan. The ones that grip the asphalt really well, and therefore provide better braking as well due to increased grip levels. 🤔 Asking from a perspective of city rides + touring and 0% off roading throughout the tyre life.
@ONTWOWHEELSBEN3 жыл бұрын
For the 17 rear you could try the MRF zapper C ( wet tyre ) . As for the front I would suggest to stick with the ceat

Ben, could you please recommend a tyre combination for more on-road and a bit off-road as I travel a lot on highways
@ONTWOWHEELSBEN3 жыл бұрын
The MRFs offerings are the best deal , when you talk longevity and decent job on road performance. Have had experience with more than 25 sets of MRFs till date . I love the traction offered by the zapper C variant . Try to look for similar tread for the Himalayan .
@motorbikingviking2 жыл бұрын
Hi Ben. How is that Timsun working out for you ? I see they are selling now for 10.000rs !! Its a great looking tire but what is the difference between this model TS820 ( 130/90/17 )and the TS837 ( 140/80/17 ) and looks more agressive ??
@ONTWOWHEELSBEN2 жыл бұрын
It’s the best tyre money can buy . Almost touching 10000 kms and I think I can pull out another 1-2 k kilometers ( depends on use ) . TS 820 is a 70-30 tyre whereas 837 is a hardcore sand / loose mud tyre .

the front is not good in rain on tarmac but excellent in rain offroad / slush. the rear is not better than stock in rain on tarmac but better in rain off road/slush.

@ONTWOWHEELSBEN3 жыл бұрын
Not that i know of.
@nagabhushanasathyanarayana31262 жыл бұрын
I might be late in answering. Get a set of tubeless tyres and convert your wired rims to tubeless. As far as I'm aware, there is not a single company making mag wheels for Himalayan as its more of an offroad oriented motorcycle than touring.
