I subscribed because you did the best off road test on this car which satisfied me Compass is acually a recreational 4wd as opposed to Hard Core like Wrangler etc. Compass will do all I would ever need to do offroad. I would like to see Compas on sand and snow. I test drove one today and my friend has one as a loan car from dealership, this is a great rview about every part of the Limited Model. Thankyou

I don't know man I still love driving cars with manual transmission. I love old geared scooters too which have become an endangered species now. Automatic does provide comfort but manual makes you feel more connected with the car.

@@iamarjun55 It has a power transfer unit, which is nothing but a limited slip differential, which transfers power to front and rear axle in predefined ratios. Good for mild offroading but not hardcore. No front ir rear differential lock.😎

its fwd, and just like the harrier, safari, creta, etc. it can go offroad a bit in areas where you can go fast with momentum... if you get stuck, or it's a rocky surface and you cant carry momentum.... thats when you're screwed and will wish you had 4wd with low range or an AWD equivalent.

However, let me list a few examples that are outside this segment whose tyres would probably stay in contact with the ground for longer (i.e show better wheel articulation): Mahindra Thar, Toyota Fortuner, Ford Endeavour, Isuzu MUX, Isuzu D Max. Heck from what I have seen the new Tata Safari (unibody construction and direct competitor) has better suspension travel than the Jeep Compass. However the Safari lacks an AWD option. Don't kid yourself guys, no one buys a Compass to go off road. It neither has the ground clearance or water fording capability to go beyond broken trails. They. buy it because of the driving experience and interior quality.

For normal commuting you would rarely find any use of a 4x4 system..... actually awd systems have been designed for tracks with low traction just like in Europe and parts of America where most of the times roads remain covered with snow, providing very low traction, but in India this is not an issue so why do you want to waste so much of your hard earned money on something you don't even need......
