I agree. Joni's best is on the Isles Of Miles live album but this rendition simply captures the feeling for me. Joni was still soprano in the choir sounding which I used to love, probably because I used to be a soprano in the choir but now this one does it for me. Music the last island of paradise left for us to explore...remember 1984 when you choose your music and they put you down to rest? I'm getting there folks.

Even after hearing many covers by various artists doing this song, I STILL much prefer Prince’s version of it. Prince seems to effortlessly capture the feelings this song conveys. It’s just beautiful: especially with his expressive piano playing which adds to the pleasure of listening to him.

Wow, didn't expect that. I knew Diana Krall mainly from her album "The Look of Love". While being expertly sung I found it a little too elegant and polished. So I didn't explore her music further. But this is totally different! So moody and bluesy. Maybe I need to check out more of her stuff after all.

Love it, still prefer Live In Paris rendition, when she goes down into the cellar register singing the word "Bleed". Not here. Older and wiser to be sure, granted. But get the feeling she mailed this one in as opposed to #really digging deep for her performance of it in Paris. All that said...without Ms. Mitchell, there #would be no Diana performing this AT ALL. Much props to the author.
