One of my very favorite artists who does this all the time is Ishq. Not only is he an absolute master with music and mixing, but the way he incorporates long played passages with organic timing with sequenced pieces is really well done. Highly recommended to anyone not familiar

Have to agree 100%. In addition to the artists on Synphaera, Ishq is amazing.

I stopped using drums in my music over the last year and a half. I made house and techno for over 10 years now just strictly Ambient soundscapes and I love it. Another great video.

Wow! I searched up some drone sound design videos for vital and your channel was recommended. I've been hooked for the last 1.5hrs watching your content. Thank you for sharing your excitement and knowledge about music! Its a joy to watch you create and to enjoy doing it - it's a great encouragement and reminder for myself about why I got into making music. Cheers :)

Wonderful tutorial, thank you! Martin Stürtzer once talked about the BPM in the DAW just doesn't matter, the Delay itself gives you a feeling for tempo (if you need or want to) - I made an off grid Ambient song some month ago and showed it to a work mate - he's into producing Acid House - and asked me "how much BPM is this Song?" and I said "... I'm sorry, I really don't know" 😂 Sometimes the "tempoless" Pads or drones played or "painted" improvised feel to be the most worthy "songstructures" to build up a whole Song around- Thank you Chris for your tutorials, they really really help to just do music instead of feeling "not to be professional enough"🙂

I have done this off-grid stuff a few times, but what I'm now learning from you is the importance of being intentional about planning the spectrum build-up and keeping the frequencies out of each other's way. Thanks! I think this will make a big difference to my results.

Nothing beats producing off the grid. It takes some time to get used to but once mastered, it's the ultimate freedom to create music.

I learned already so much from Chris! I subscribed a few months ago to his Ambient Coaching on Patreon. So I can highly recommended it for all those who are still in doubt. Chris challenges you to make and produce better tracks and give you plenty of tips & tricks on the way.

Very interesting approach. Crossfading between chords is something we often do without focusing too much about it, because of the attack and release values of the envelopes, so it happens a chord goes in not precisely in time with the clock, good thing for a pad, it adds movement, but this method is really advancing the concept, it's real freedom in harmonic progression. A great ace up everyone's sleeve. Nice tutorial here.

After watching a number of these videos, I've suddenly realised how much I like this style of ambient music. I need to find some decent artists or mixes on KZbin or Spotify. Any recommendations, because my initial searches are finding stuff labelled as Ambient that doesn't sound much like this, more like elevator music?
