I reuploaded the build to the gallery because despite play-testing this so carefully, the gallery version made it so the kitchen wasn’t useable? I rebuilt the walls around the kitchen space and it fixed it but if you have any issues with the kitchen space, just rebuild the walls around that area, it will delete the wallpaper and flooring and the staircase but once you add them back, it seems to do the trick! x

This is perfect timing. I just spent 3 hours looking for a houseboat on the gallery for the 4th generation of my made up, mashed up legacy to “runaway” to. In this gen I’m having my teenager run away with her boyfriend to the islands that she went to on her family vacation as a child. The parents don’t approve of her relationship so they are running away. I think I want to use this build in two forms. One I’ll strip down and make really run down/grungy and make them live there till they earn enough money to replace it with the full beautiful version you’ve created. thank you for another amazing build to add to my game!

I wanted to comment this here so hopefully you would see! I only just watched the castle build you did using the kit and before watching that video I was planning to do a church build for my save file and that build with the windows and ruins made me think that you would build an excellent church and it could be used as a wedding venue and would look amazing !! Btw I love this boat build and I have used it in my save file !!!

I feel that. Sometimes I will place the lot anyway, because the game will try to replace items with similar ones. Sometimes it gets me close enough that it will still look great. I use the pictures of the original build to recreate whatever I may be missing. Not perfect but it normally works out well enough.

as someone who used to live on a lil boat on the canals and in marinas, and looking at getting back into that lifestyle - this is brilliant. i'm gonna have a play about with this, there are definitely teeny tiny things that you can do to make it more realistic but i don't know how it would affect gameplay (shower instead of bath, composting toilet(!), diesel generator + solar (we don't tend to do wind power)). and we definitely have computers, internet access, and full (small) kitchens! i really enjoy your builds because even when you build something that's out of your comfort zone, you do such a cracking job that i don't feel like you've misunderstood different lifestyles. a testament to your attention to detail and curiosity of the world around us 🛥 x

Very nice build! My only question is whether a boat of that size would have a bathtub. Any sea going vessel would most likely have a shower, because rolling waves at sea would cause the water to slop out of the tub, and also showers are used for water conservation as most ships have relatively small water containers. In fact, even with a shower, the water is, I think, sometimes drawn from the sea. Other than that one little quibble, I love the build.
