Hello there. Thank you for this tutorial! Your top pattern piece looks to be drawn out at way more than the 8" or so that you mentioned. Did I miss something?

Did you double the shoulder measurement by 2 to make the ruffle ?
@ALLFORLOVELY4 жыл бұрын
Hey love! No I didn't double the actual shoulder measurement, I took my shoulder measurement (42) and cut 2 separate strips, so one for the front and one for the back. I have wide shoulders lol
@antoinetterichardson93014 жыл бұрын
So is it 42 front 42 back or 21 front 21 back. I want to make one but lenght is up to my hip. Do t have flat tummy and huge arms that I cover always lol
@ALLFORLOVELY4 жыл бұрын
@@antoinetterichardson9301 the strip is 42 across for both pieces (front and back), do not split that measurement because your strip will be too small (you still have to gather the fabric). For the length of the strip you decide how far down you want the ruffle to go down your arm

Thanks got it now. Just didnt want to make mistake.

for the arm hole measurement, 3" and 5", i am assuming it's not universal? how do I decide on those ?
@ALLFORLOVELY4 жыл бұрын
If you are a small or medium that measurement should definitely work for you, otherwise if you are a large or have fuller arms I would recommend dropping the length of the armhole by 1 inch so it would be 6" instead of 5" to allow more arm space. You can also create a muslin (practice version) of the top before going into your final fabric, that way you can check the fit and comfort beforehand.
