It really sucks that Kyulkyung spent so long training and becoming basically fluent in Korean just for Pledis to screw up Pristin and send her, basically, permanently to promote in China.

Tbh as long as the company is still backing her up and allowing her to promote in China, there's nothing wrong with it. Being fluent in Korean adds the skills to her if she promotes there. Some foreign members were not allowed to promote by their company at all. Moreover she could get good income flow in China which is a huge market.

Thị Xoài When you live for a long time in a foreign country, speaking your own language is more difficult. Of course, you know your language but It became an habit to speak another language so you are more slow to think in your own language. For exemple, you can speak easily for long sentence in your own language but speed reactions are in another language. But maybe because Pinky was in her own country, it was more easy to speak chinese than she would be to Korea for speak chinese.

it actually all depends on how much you use your own language while in foreign country. Tiffany for example uses english so much in daily life while in Korea its crazy she even answers to SNSD members in english when they ask her smth in korean, she cant even write songs in Korean and reads books in english only (i don think she was ever seen reading a book in Korean) she even writes in her diary/schedule in english. My point being Pinky is maybe just like Tiffany and uses chinese often, maybe talks to her family often, or has chinese speaking friends in Korea, or has trainees in pledis that also speak chinese.... And another thing is that it plays huge part how good or bad someone is with languages.

Although as a chinese person, her shanghai accent is actually not pronounced at all. Her chinese is correct grammatically, but her accent sounds a lot less native than she should, considering she IS chinese, more like that of a chinese living abroad/born abroad. She also forgot to use the chinese word for 'please' because I think its not so habitual for her, although most chinese people do. Probably because she came to korea really young, and learning korean while you are younger (as with other languages) changes the shapes that your mouth is used to making. The fact that her korean sounds much less accented than other chinese trainees/idols usually also comes with her chinese accent slipping a bit.

A lot of people tend to lose their native accent and grammar when they constantly speak a foreign language for years. Look at Momo and Sana from Twice. They both speak Korean everyday for the past 5 years and so a lot of times they can't find the right words in Japanese which they can easily say in Korean. Japanese fans of Twice have said that Sana speaks Japanese with a Korean accent now. But Kyulkyung speaks Korean so fluently and uses really difficult words that even the MCs never ask her if she's Chinese or a foreigner on TV programs.

For current 3rd generation kpop it's a choice of Somi, Lia and Wendy. Because all three are from the Toronto Pearson Airport area. The American line East Coast you have a choice of Females Lavley Ashley and Say A Min.

@hongbaabaa Just a translate error that cause by the misunderstand the Korean translation and straight away translate it from Korean without do any checkup(or don't have the knowledge about the food).As a native Chinese who has global vision,I can tell you that the correct international standard translation is Xiao Long Bao.Just because the interpreter of English only know Korean and don't know Chinese,the Hangeul translation that pronounced Sha-o Lung Ba-o transform to Shao Long Bao in English.
