Four instructors demonstrate an offensive louver (opposing saws) on a light weight panelized roof prop. The method shown is just one of many methods of vertically ventilating this type of construction.
An indicator hole was placed at two locations in this video; at the crews change of direction and one ahead of the offensive hole to monitor fire conditions. Direct fire impingement on the structural members during this operation decreases firefighter safety. It is recommended that space is provided for the time needed to complete this operation.
