I have absolutely no inclination towards camping🏕️, especially in the cold, but I can't stop watching these incredible videos. It is really interesting to see someone so dedicated to the lifestyle.

Could you imagine?
@amandab84333 жыл бұрын
@@maryshaffer8474 Nope 😜. Years ago my husband took me and the kids (ages 3, 9, and 11 at the time) camping for 7 days in Yosemite. It rained and snowed for 6 of the days, and even though we had a hardsided tent trailer I was miserable. He and the kids had blast, but ultimately my idea of camping would be a stay at the The Awahnee 👀🏕️🏢😉🤣. My kids are 17, 23 and 25 now, and are very outdoorsy, camping, hiking, canoeing, mountain biking, etc. My husband helped foster a love of nature, and I'm really glad for that ❤️. I do like watching these videos though 😁

They learn pretty quickly depending on the dogs nature. Our Aussie Doodle loves to be toweled off after snow or rain (all I have to say is towel and she stands and waits). Our Duck Toller no way, she has sort of a heavy double coat fur and could care less about being toweled, she actually rubs her back in the snow daily if she gets a chance and then shakes off.

Really awesome! 6 degrees here right now. Think I would enjoy this too, have 3 in my Pack larger dogs and a tiny one! After leaving Santa Cruz in 2002, coming to Northeast Minnesota for 19 years now have learned a bit about winter, dressing for it, getting out, the tent, and all looks amazing. I may get a bus soon and make that same move with the pups and when it warms up get the wood stove like you got.

Sierra is like a 6 month old puppy in the snow,. That keeps her and you young. We got a few inches of snow yesterday afternoon with maybe a bit more on Monday. But yeah cold, single digits this morning. I opened the chicken coop and everyone just stood in the door as if to say, nope not now and i don't blame them. I have to clean the coop out today and replenish their bedding. Since it there is a beautiful sun out there with zero clouds that will not be unpleasant at all. Hope you have a good remainder of your time at your current location. Peace Out from Angry Old HIppie Hermit at Old HIppieland.

Well woke up this Sunday morning to alot of snow here in Northwest Arkansas in Bentonville . It snowed all day here. Lots of big flakes. We got about four inches. Kids out playing in it. Young adults playing on skis and snow boarding. I like snow ice cream but never eat the first snow. First real snow we've had in several years. Schools all closed tomorrow. Kids will be glad,parents will be mad. Haha! You are still getting snow yourself. I'm ready for spring. You have a pretty dog . Stay safe and thanks for the video.😷😂

Seems like a small portable insulated Yurt would be way more comfortable than this tent. but to each their own. Round spaces are so much easier to heat, no dead end corners where the cold temp hideout, making the rest of the tent colder....Good Luck with your winter time adventures, thnxx for sharing !!!

Consideration for a winter tent with no floor: The ground will defrost with the stove and become muddy...underneath everything...your bed, the dogs feet, the living space you cook in, etc. Personally I'd rather deal with the floor. Love your videos!

Are you in my back yard? I insulate with recycled cardboard because it's free. Bubble foil from the home store work best though, if you keep mobile. Also, if you have space, the concrete installation tarps are literally LIFE SAVERS in the freezing cold. Stay safe.

Also, I forgot to mention, I just used mistint outdoor paint to weather proof my tents. Because my camp is in the sun all year, I use the paint because it gives a UV barrier. UVs will weaken a tent, then high winds kick in and you get a catastrophic rip in the worst possible conditions.

Thanks Scott, I've been able to scout out these spots by driving 4x4 trails in the winter over the past 6 years to see what I can still access once snow starts flying. Most trail systems are closed so it takes quite a bit of poking around to find good winter camping sites that are accessible. Over the past 6 years, I've located about 20 really great winter camping sites.
