Wish I could've talked about this in the chat, but: two points 1. I think you, like many people, have a too limited view of the Hero's Journey. To understand why some people (myself included) say that every story can be put into the Hero's Journey, you should read Chris Vogler's The Writer's Journey. He does a great job breaking it down. For example, he explains that every story doesn't have to have every character archetype or even every step of the Hero's Journey. The Hero's Journey is simply the understanding of how we as people move through life. There are times where we go through the entire journey and then find ourselves needing to do it again and again. A mentor can fall and need to go through the journey again by helping the mentee. An person can go through a negative Hero's Journey where they end up falling to the dark side, ala Michael Corleone or Anakin Skywalker. The Hero's Journey works for every genre, not just fantasy and sci-fi and not just with chosen one's. 2. I just wanted to say the streams are awesome and keep them up. On the topic of POVs, I'm writing a fantasy series where each book bounces between the two main characters as who's POV we'll follow per book. Each book will also cycle between different sub-genres (mystery, action, political, epic, etc). Should be fun!

@@Writing-Theory It's a chunky one, but it's one of the best ones I've read and I'm the same one who recommended John Gardner's book lol.
